ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2023 REPORT
On December 1-5, the 22nd MUNRFE Annual Conference 2023 took place at the Far Eastern Federal University campus in Vladivostok. For five days, more than 100 participants from all over Russia (including Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Vladivostok, Rostov-on-Don, Oryol, Stavropol, Astrakhan, Moscow) and abroad were debating on the vitally important agenda items of chosen Committees.
During the Conference, the work of five institutions was simulated, among which are the UN Security Council, the World Bank (WB), the UN Environment Assembly (UNEA), the UN Commission on Population and Development (CPD), and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), which was conducted in online format.
In all the Committees participants discussed following Agenda items:
UN Security Council:
— Non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction;
— Open agenda.
World Bank:
— Appraisal and approval of development projects.
UNEA:
— Effective, inclusive and sustainable multilateral actions to achieve Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12;
— Reducing forced displacement in fragile states due to climate change and disaster risks.
CPD:
— Accelerating efforts towards inclusive, sustained and equitable economic growth;
— Combating obstacles to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals targeting population and nutrition.
ESCAP:
— Catalyzing climate actions in Asia and the Pacific to reach the Agenda 2030;
— Comprehensive approach for building a resilient future by innovations and technologies.
The Resolution, adopted by the UNEA representatives on the second agenda, will take part in the MUN Refugee Challenge by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Moreover, in frames of the Conference Programme, the participants had the opportunity to take part in the Briefing, conducted by Mrs. Nailia Savenkova, Legal Adviser of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Regional Delegation for the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, and attend the Primorsky Stage of Mariinsky Theatre during the Cultural Program component.
As a result, delegates who have shown the most outstanding performances were recognized in various nominations.

The recipients of the Outstanding Delegate award are now credentialed to take part in the MUNRFE Leadership Program 2024 that includes participation in the international Model United Nations.
