ASEAN 2020: Comprehensive Outlook

From 22-24 May, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club conducted the ASEAN 2020: Comprehensive Outlook project under the leadership of Yana Korchevnaya and Aleksandra Mikhailiuk. The participants listened to a series of lectures delivered by the invited experts and took part in a Quiz Game and an individual quiz.

The first lecture was given by the experts from ASEAN Centre in MGIMO (University) Dr. Victor V. Sumsky, Director of the Center, and Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova, Senior Expert. They discussed the ASEAN vision of the Indo-Pacific. Also, Andrei I. Kozinets, Assistant Professor at Department of International Relations, Far Eastern Federal University, a MUNRFE alumnus, delivered a lecture on regional integration in ASEAN and its place between China and the U.S. in the trade, economic and security policies.

The lectured were followed by the Quiz Game in the format of “Jeopardy!” took place on May 24. The participants tested their knowledge gained from the lectures and posts in the project’s official group in VKontakte. The individual quiz in Google Forms was conducted the following day.

The winners of the Quiz Game and the individual quiz were awarded the prizes provided by the event partners, the network of rope parks “Panda Park” and the quest room “Vykhoda net”.

ASEAN Project is a traditional annual MUNRFE educational event. The project aims to raise awareness of ASEAN and its cooperation with Russia in various spheres among youth through conducting lectures, workshops, debates, and interactive games.

MUNRFE expresses its deepest appreciation to the lecturers and the sponsors who contributed to the project implementation and looks forward to furthering cooperation. MUNRFE has a rich history of cooperation with the ASEAN Center in MGOMO and hopes for further cooperation.
