Report about VIII International MUNRFE Conference

One half a year of preparation...

A lot of work, a lot of things to do...

25 people engaged...

 

All this is about the organization of the VIII MUNRFE International Conference, which was implemented by the Khabarovsk MUNRFE Club. For the Khabarovsk Club it has been a great honor to be the hosting club for the VIII IC this year and it has tried to do its best to make it real.

Of course not everything, that had been planned, was implemented due to various obstacles. But in spite of all the difficulties the Club managed with all the challenges and finally organized the Conference.

SF TEAM 2010

The 8th MUNRFE Conference was held in Khabarovsk on November 30 – December 4, 2009.

Delegations from 4 cities, namely Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Blagoveschensk, and Chita debated in 5 committees of the United Nations. The General Assembly, Security Council, World Bank, International Court of Justice, and Peacebuilding Commission challenged the abilities of delegates to make bright speeches, ask profound questions, work during caucuses, write resolutions, and what is important, be the delegates of assigned countries. The conference served as a platform for discussion of wide-ranging topics from achieving MDGs and tackling the piracy off Somalia to financing development projects and giving advisory opinion on legal issues.

The Decisions of the XVI MUNRFE Presidents Council

The regular Presidents Council of the MUNRFE took place in Khabarovsk right before the 8th International Conference. The XVI PC gathered 9 representatives from 3 clubs of MUNRFE (Vladivostok, Blagoveshensk, Khabarovsk) and MD Team with the goal to adress the main difficulties of the organizations, elaborate on the strategy of the MUNRFE's development during 2010 and make traditional PC's decisions on the approaching projects.

 

MD Team would like to thank Alexandra Ovsyankina, Evgeniy Pal'kin, Anna Musatova, Ulyana Kan, Anastasia Naiden, Ksenia Sukhotina, Sofia Korchagina, Anastasia Burmistrova and Sofia Vidasheva for their committment and immesurable contribution to this important event, the decisions of which are available below.

MUNRFE is represented on APEC Summit 2009!

 

From 13th to 15th of November 2009 world leaders gathered at APEC Summit in Singapore in order to discuss the topic of «Sustaining growth, connecting the region». And four days before it Singapore welcomed 120 young leaders from APEC countries to participate at «APEC Voices of the Future» - unique platform for exchanging opinions, views and cultures.

Russian Federation was represented by the team of 4 people and one of them was Irina Fedorenko — MUNRFE member and coordinator of environmental project «Green Light».

Task Force to Chita is successfully completed!

 

 

The outstanding and highly important for Chita MUNRFE Club event was held with a help of ZABHSPU (Zabaikalian State Humanitarian Pedagogical University) and BSUEL (Baikalian State University of Economics and Law). It was third time when MUNRFE conducted Task Force program for Chita Club. This year program was launched by Olga Kostina (Khabarovsk MUNRFE club) and Ulyana Kan (Khabarovsk MUNRFE club).

The Tigers' Day in Vladivostok!

 

 

On 27th of September traditional far eastern holiday - The Tiger’s Day took place in Vladivostok. Probably it was the most grandiose Tiger’s day festival ever. It’s no wonder, cause’ the festival had been organized by two large animals protection funds: “The Phoenix Fund” and “IFAW”. This day gathered many absolutely different people, students from all the youth organizations of Vladivostok, several school teams, a lot of small children dressed like tigers and, of course… MUNRFE members!

FireStarter'09 was successfully conducted!

Several days ago a very important and huge project became a part of history.

FireStarter 2009 was held in Vladivostok and that was the 6th time it was conducted! FireStarter 2009 was held in a new location – Popov’s island giving the participants a great opportunity to enjoy the sea during their two-week stay.

50 high school students got together from Vladivostok, Blagoveschensk, Khabarovsk, Chita, Sakhalin and nearby cities. And even though the cost of the program was rather high (16,000 rub. per person which indicates a 45% increase as compared with the last year), there was competition for participation.
