With the financial assistance of the US State Department and the support of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) MUNRFE conducted the APEC Youth Summit, which became the first project that starts MUNRFE activities in the context of the upcoming APEC Summit in Vladivostok in 2012.

APEC Youth Summit modeled work of three committees: Working group, which gathered experts in the fields announced in agenda, APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), which was a forum for national business representatives, and CEO Meeting, which brought leaders of APEC Member Economies to the table of negotiations. The committees were working on the same agenda items consecutively, applying different approaches. During the work of the first two committees we saw business concerns and experts’ recommendations on ways to overcome the challenges, which APEC faces. Their results of the work of the two committees were

then considered by the leaders in the CEO committee. At the end of the debates, the Leaders’ Declaration based on national interests was adopted. During 4 days of the Summit more than 60 young people from different cities of Russia (Moscow, Ivanovo, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Blagoveschensk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok) and other countries (Spain, Indonesia, USA) got an amazing experience of debating, negotiating and learned about the cultures of the APEC countries. Besides official debates, delegates had a unique program of trainings, excursions, and participation in the Victory’s Day Parade.
