FireStarter 2015: Two weeks of non-stop English, self-development and fun
On August 14-27, 2015 the annual Summer Program for high school students “FireStarter 2015” was successfully implemented on the base of “Rhythm-10” in Vladivostok under the leadership of Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva. This year FireStarter gathered 48 brightest and outstanding high school students from more than 10 cities and towns of the Russian Far East, namely Khabarovsk, Blagoveshchensk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Amursk, Belogorsk, Novobureiskiy, Troitskoe, Artyom, Fokino, Ussuriysk, and Vladivostok.
All participants received an opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of non-stop English, self-development, Model UN activities and many more. Every day was filled with a variety of interesting activities, including both educational and entertaining ones. Besides going through an everyday course of lectures on leadership, public-speaking, goal-setting, time-management, teamwork and others, each participant took part in numerous trainings and master-classes. Moreover, several special guests granted their visit in order to share their knowledge and experience with the participants, particularly the Second Secretary of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Mr. Evgeniy S. Volosastov and two MUNRFE alumni, Ms. Olga V. Bukach and Ms. Natalia A. Martynova. The entire Program was organized by a brilliant team of 8 advisers led by the Coordinator: Ms. Darya Nemtsova, Ms. Aleksandra Gritsenko, Ms. Alena Filimonova, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova, Mr. Pavel Nesterov, Ms. Daria Kiseleva, Ms. Evgenia Belous and Ms. Anastasia Popova.
In the end of the Program each participant had an opportunity to apply all the knowledge and skills received throughout the Program during the final Model UN Conference, which included three committees: UN General Assembly, UN Security Council and UNESCO. According to the evaluation the following Outstanding Delegates have been announced: Kirill Zhazhin (Amursk), Ekaterina Gubina (Khabarovsk), and Matvey Plevako (Blagoveshchensk). Those delegates were granted with a waived participation in the upcoming Annual MUNRFE Conference 2015 held in the Pacific National University in Khabarovsk this November. Finally, each participant received a certificate of the successful completion of FireStarter 2015.
