MUNRFE 15th Anniversary Conference
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East (MUNRFE) jointly with Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) invites young leaders to participate in the traditional annual event - MUNRFE 15th Anniversary Conference. From 2 to 5 of December on the FEFU campus perspective delegates will have a chance to become diplomats, defending interests of represented states and to elaborate a common solution in response to the global issues, such as preventing an arms race in outer space, protection of the global climate, resolution of the crisis in Syria, strengthening human rights of refugees and appraisal of development projects.
The program of the Conference includes simulation of one Russian-speaking committee – UN General Assembly; and three English-speaking committees – UN Security Council, UN Human Rights Council and World Bank. The best delegates who will demonstrate the highest level of professionalism, accountability, knowledge and debate skills will be granted with an opportunity to participate in the National Model UN 2017 in New-York, the largest Model UN Conference in the world.
The Secretariat of the Conference is comprised of bright professionals, MUNRFE members, who have demonstrated their potential in numerous Model UN Conferences in New-York, Incheon, Jakarta, Bangkok, Tokyo, Istanbul, Moscow and other cities of the world. It is worth noting that Conference management team has served the initiator of the Far Eastern Model UN 2016 - the first conference in Russia following the UN4MUN format, elaborated by the UN Department of Public Information.
The venue of the Conference deserves special attention as far as Far Eastern Federal University campus has become the main platform for conducting international events such as APEC in 2012 and Eastern Economic Forum in 2015 and 2016. Accommodation at the hotel in the FEFU campus provides a range of infrastructural and logistic benefits to participants of the Conference.
In order to provide non-Vladivostok and international delegates with more opportunities for participation in the event, MUNRFE has opened a Grant Competition, which reimburses 50% of the travel expenses or 100% of the accommodation expenses for the winners during the Conference at the Far Eastern Federal University campus (5 nights).
