MUNRFE at the National Model UN - New York 2017
From March 19 – 23, 2017, MUNRFE was privileged to represent the Organization and the Russian Federation at the National Model United Nations (NMUN) – New York 2017. The delegation consisting of FEFU students Ms. Yulya Nedelkina, Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva and Ms. Anna Timokhina represented Serbia in the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), respectively. This year, NMUN-New York gathered around 5000 participants from 110 countries worldwide, where MUNRFE was the only participating institution from Russia. As a result of the intensive preparation of the delegation and active involvement in the process of debating, the delegation was granted with an Honorable Mention Delegation award. Noteworthy is that the team's adviser - MUNRFE Counselor for External Affairs - Mr. Jesse Thomas - was selected as the Chairperson for the Economic and Social Council, which demonstrates the highest level of knowledge and professionalism MUNRFE members possess.
In frames of the NMUN trip, the delegates were also privileged to visit the Office of the World Bank in Moscow, where World Bank Consultant Ms. Larisa Fugol introduced the role and functions of the World Bank (WB) in the world economy and the WB's commitment to alleviating poverty. They also discussed Russia-WB partnership and the prospective of Russia in terms of economic growth. MUNRFE highly appreciates the hospitality of the Office and is looking forward to further cooperation between the World Bank and MUNRFE.
We express our deepest gratitude to all who has contributed to the success of the delegation namely, Mr. Jesse Thomas, Ms. Elena Kiseleva, Mr. Vladimir Tananykin, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova, Mr. Vitaly Savenkov, Mr. Lavrentiy Pak, Mr. Alexander Yugai, Ms. Alexandra Gritsenko.
