MUNRFE enlarges its representation at WFUNA International Model United Nations Conference 2018
In the year of 2018 WFUNA International Model United Nations Conference (WIMUN) hosted by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) in New York will be conducted with the involvement of three MUNRFE representatives – Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva, Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva and Mr. Vitaly Savenkov. Having completed a competitive international selection process Mr. Vitaly E. Savenkov and Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva were selected to perform the duties of WIMUN Secretariat officers. Mr. Savenkov was appointed as Security Council Director (University), whereas Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva was selected as Secretary of the General Assembly Committee (High School). Moreover, for the first time in history, MUNRFE representative, Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva has become a part of the Senior Secretariat as she was selected to perform the duties of the Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management.
WIMUN is a flagship UN4MUN conference that takes place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and applies the most accurate simulation of the United Nations. MUNRFE representatives have been involved in a variety of UN4MUN activities, which include UN4MUN Workshop 2014 in Tokyo attended by Mr. Savenkov and Ms. Kiseleva; WIMUN New York 2015 and WIMUN India 2016 attended by Mr. Savenkov as GA Secretary and SC Director. Furthermore, Ms. Elena Kiseleva and Ms. Victoria Yavorskaya performed the duties of Secretaries at WIMUN New York 2017, followed by further selection of Ms. Kiseleva to perform the role of the Lead Trainer at WFUNA Youth Camp Korea 2017 and SC Director at WEMUN Expo in Beijing 2017.
As a result of active MUNRFE involvement into UN4MUN activities, MUNRFE implemented the first UN4MUN conference in Russia – the Far Eastern Model United Nations (FEMUN) 2016, followed by the FEMUN 2017 attended by the main author of UN4MUN concept, the former Project Coordinator for the Global Teaching and Learning Project of the Education Outreach section, Outreach Division of the UN DPI, Mr. William M. Yotive, who currently works as Model UN Coordinator for the WFUNA.
