MUNRFE at National Model UN 2018 in New York
On March 18-22 MUNRFE delegation took part in National Model UN 2018 in New York, USA. This year the delegation was composed of the representatives of both MUNRFE Clubs: Blagoveshchensk Club President Ilya Kopot, Vladivostok Club Vice-President Aleksei Stanonis, Vladivostok Club members Diana Tereshchenko and Veronika Tkachenko, as well as delegation adviser MUNRFE Acting Executive Director Ekaterina Tretiakova. Having shown high level professionalism and debating skills as well as deep knowledge in the agenda items the delegation was granted with an Outstanding Delegation award as a result of the Conference. Additionally, the delegation adviser Ekaterina Tretiakova successfully came through the selection process and performed as a Chairperson-Rapporteur of the UN Population Fund during the Conference.
The delegation members represented the Independent State of Samoa in the General Assembly Fifth Committee, Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and the United Nations Population Fund discussing the following agenda items: Strengthening Compliance and Accountability in Field Missions with Special Regard to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse Cases, The Complete Eradication of Chemical Weapons, and Sexual and Reproductive Health in Humanitarian Response.
The trip was marked with a wide range of visits to various institutions by the delegation that includes briefings in the World Bank Office in Moscow by the World Bank Consultant Ms. Larisa Fugol, in UN Information Centre in Moscow (UNIC) by UNIC National Information Officer Mr. Vladimir S. Pavinskiy, in the Permanent Mission of Samoa to the UN by the Permanent Representative H.E. Mr. Aliioaiga Feturi Elisaia, in the United Nations Children’s Fund by the Senior Evaluation Specialist of UNICEF Evaluation Office Ms. Ada Ocampo-Cabos, in the World Bank Headquarters in Washington DC by the Coordinator of the World Bank in Russia program Ms. Dorota A. Nowak and in New York University by NYU Department of Anthropology Associate Chair Prof. Bruce Grant.

Moreover, we would like to thank Vladivostok Club for hosting NMUN 2018 delegation training week and its members for attending the training debates of the team.
It is necessary to mention that this year for the fifth time in a row MUNRFE receives delegation awards at the National Model UN in New York. Hereby, the Organization would like to sincerely congratulate the delegation with high-level performance at the hugest Model UN conference in the world and wishes our future delegations to continue the tradition of bright performance at the international conferences!
