MUNRFE successfully celebrated the United Nations Day
On October 24, the global community celebrated the United Nations Day 2018 – a date of the UN establishment. MUNRFE also expressed its commitment to the work of the biggest intergovernmental organization. Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok Clubs shared their knowledge about the United Nations and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with university and high-school students while implementing UN-related entertaining projects. The Clubs conducted their events in Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and in Amur State University (AmSU) under the leadership of Ms. Alyona Plekhanova and Ms. Polina Varfolomeeva as well as Ms. Oksana Guliychuk respectively. Furthermore, attendees posted in their social networks pictures with SDGs and described why Goals are significant for the world.
MUNRFE Vladivostok Club UN Day in FEFU was devoted to the history and main aims of the United Nations. The event was successfully carried out for the second time in a row and gathered more than 100 students from FEFU, Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service, and Vladivostok high schools. Besides the quiz, the participants were working in teams and elaborating on possible solutions of global problems, thus they expanded their knowledge about SDGs. The winners of the quiz were awarded with certificates from MUNRFE Vladivostok Club as well as special prizes from the sponsors of the event, including the quest center “Vikhoda N’et”, the “Ill’uzion” cinema network, the dance center “Forma” and the gift shop “Podarok Vkusa”. The winner of the Instagram contest was awarded with a special prize as well.
At the Opening Ceremony, the participants were privileged to receive welcoming addresses of FEFU Deputy Vice President for International Relations Ms. Natalia A. Stupnitskaya, and MUNRFE Vladivostok Club President Mr. Aleksei Stanonis, who shared their opinion about the importance for the youth events in University.
In turn, the event in Blagoveshchensk attracted students from AmSU and beyond. The Club members prepared questions concerning the UN, its structure, history, bodies as well as about different countries, which allowed participants to expand their knowledge about the Organization and the world in general. The participants were awarded with pleasant presents, and souvenirs.
MUNRFE recognizes the contribution into the implementation of the UN Day of the Working Group of the FEFU project, namely Ms. Maria Butueva, Ms. Sandaara Filippova, Ms. Ayuna Tarbaeva, Mr. Konstantin Golnev, Ms. Yana Linkevich and Ms. Yana-Maria Ivanova as well as AmSU Project organisers, namely Ms. Lyudmila Musenko, Ms. Ekaterina Pankratyeva, Mr. Zeyu Shen, Mr. Ilya Kopot, Ms. Anastasia Streltsova, Ms. Uliana Kokambo, and Ms. Varvara Muler.
