MUNRFE delegation to NMUN pays a visit to the Russian Embassy and Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, China
On November 15, MUNRFE members attended the briefing at the Embassy of Russia in the Peoples Republic of China. The delegation was privileged to receive the welcoming address of H.E. Andrey Denisov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People’s Republic of China, the former Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations and United Nations Security Council. Furthermore, the delegates paid the visit to the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, where they had a conversation with Mrs. Olga Melnikova, the Counsellor of the Russian Embassy and the Director of the Center, about the promotion of Russian culture in China and cultural aspects of Russia-China relations.
H.E. Denisov underlined the role of the United Nations in current global affairs as well as encouraged MUNRFE members for successful performance at the upcoming conference. The welcoming speech was followed by the discussion regarding the current state of Russia-China relations, perspectives of “Belt and Road” initiatives, Bilateral Years of our Inter-regional Cooperation and many more. MUNRFE delegation was honored to receive profound opinions of Mr. Ivan Zhelokhovtsev, the Deputy Head of the Mission, Mr. Maksim Novoselov, the Senior Counsellor, Mr. Roman Ruzanov, the Third Secretary, Mr. Dorzhi Ganzhurov, the Counsellor, and Mr. Sergey Ermakov, the Coordinator for Non-proliferation and Arms Control Affairs.
The second part of the day was devoted to attending the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. Mrs. Olga Melnikova warmly welcomed the MUNRFE delegation and shared precious information about Centers goals and initiatives aimed at the preservation and promotion of Russian language and culture abroad with the young leaders. The meeting was organized with the assistance of the constant MUNRFE partner, the Far Eastern branch of “Russky Mir” foundation.
Both the visits brought MUNRFE delegation valuable experience and new contacts. Thus, the Organization highly appreciates the contribution to the development of MUNRFE members and expresses its deepest gratitude to all parties involved.
