Intercultural Festival "UNITY" is successfully conducted in Vladivostok Schools
On February 11-21, MUNRFE alongside with the Far Eastern Federal University Association of Russian and Foreign Students (FEFU ARIS) with the support of the Department of extracurricular activities of FEFU has successfully implemented the festival of foreign cultures and traditions “Unity”. The event was designed to strengthen interethnic friendship and strengthen the formation of tolerant relations between Russian and foreign students and schoolchildren of Vladivostok as well as to raise public awareness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The total coverage was approximately 350 schoolchildren and about 50 FEFU representatives from Russia, Iran, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, the United Kingdom, the Republic of Korea, Japan, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Vietnam, Peru, Indonesia, and India. The venue for the project was provided by 5 Vladivostok schools: Secondary School 38, Secondary School 57, FEFU Gymnasium, the University complex – FEFU Gymnasium-College, and the FEFU Humanitarian-Economic College.
In each of the educational institutions, students of 7-11 grades had the opportunity to take part in the station game, dedicated to introducing foreign cultures, languages, traditions, and customs from 14 countries. The schoolchildren could taste national dishes, try on costumes and play traditional games, sing well-known national songs and dance as well as practice the knowledge of foreign languages. Besides, all attendees got acquainted with the history of the United Nations, its work, and SDGs. As the result of every game, the winning team received souvenir prizes from the university and foreign students.
