Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014 report
The Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014 has brought together more than 50 young leaders from Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Mirny, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy in Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service on December, 26-31. Delegates participated in the work of four committees: Security Council, General Assembly, Food and Agriculture Organization and World Bank. For the first time in the history of MUNRFE the working language of simulated General Assembly was Russian. Under the solid leadership by the Under-Secretary-General for Conference Management Ms. Ksenia O. Shevtsova, the Conference has acquired a list of outstanding partners: OJSC “Sberbank of Russia” as the General Partner, and OJSC “Vladkhleb” and Like Hostel Vladivostok as Official Partners. This bright event finished on December, 31, with the sounds of Kremlin chimes, when the clock struck 12 and the year of 2014 was finally over. For those, who proved to be the best throughout 35 hours of debates, that night became unique and triumphal.
The Conference began with the Opening Ceremony on December, 26. The delegates, Secretariat officers and guests were welcomed by the distinguished speakers: Mr. Vitaliy E. Savenkov, MUNRFE Director-General; Dr. Yulia O. Konovalova, Acting Director of the VSUES Institute of Foreign Languages; Mr. Evgeniy S. Volosastov, Second Secretary of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia; Mr. Andrey S. Zharskiy, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Far Eastern Bank and CEO of the Primorsky Office of the OJSC “Sberbank of Russia”, and finally the Secretary-General of the Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014 Ms. Olga V. Katina. After the Plenary Session was over the delegates guided by their presiding officers started their hot deliberations. The apogee of the substantial part of the Conference became the Joint Session organized for all English-speaking committees in frames of the UN General Assembly devoted to the crisis simulation. Such unique chance to work together by teams, not just single delegates, definitely improved the learning outcome of the Conference. Moreover, in course of the Conference program there have been two special seminars conducted. The seminar in Russian language was delivered by Assistant Professor of Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service Mr. Alexander P. Alexeenko on the issues of the international law. Mr. Vladislav S. Sklyanov, Senior Audit Consultant of ZAO "PricewaterhouseCoopers Audit", Moscow, conducted the seminar in English language devoted to the implications of the economic sanctions on the world arena.
On December, 30, during the Closing Plenary Session the rapporteurs of all 4 committees presented their work to the Plenary. After that, the representative of the General Partner of the Conference, Deputy Head of the Staff Training Center of the Far Eastern Bank of Sberbank of Russia Mr. Alexander N. Slezko, has presented the special prizes to 2 World Bank delegates: Ms. Alexandra Gritsenko (ROK, Far Eastern Federal University), and Ms. Dariya Kiseleva (France, Far Eastern Federal University). Finally, the Evaluation Committee is glad to announce those who have proven to be the best during the 5 days of the Conference:
