Keynote speaker at the FEMUN 2017
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East is delighted to announce that in frames of the Program of the Far Eastern Model UN 2017 the delegates will have a truly unique opportunity to meet Mr. William Yotive, who developed the UN4MUN procedure while working at the United Nations Department of Public Information. Mr. William Yotive is currently the Model UN Coordinator of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) where he develops content for WFUNA’s Model UN programs around the world and conducts trainings on how to simulate the General Assembly and Security Council at different educational levels. Mr. Yotive is one of the leading experts on Model UN and is currently writing a book on its history. Prior to working at WFUNA, Mr. Yotive was Project Manager of the United Nations Global Teaching and Learning Project within the Outreach Division of the UN Department of Public Information for more than 14 years.
He was responsible for creating educational materials for schools around the world on the United Nations and global issues on its agenda. In addition, he organized various global videoconferences for students and teachers each year at UN Headquarters on human rights, the legacy of the transatlantic slave trade and the observance of the International Day of Peace. It’s important to note that the delegates of FEMUN 2016 have had an opportunity to talk to Mr. Yotive during the webinar, conducted in frames of delegate trainings at the Conference. This year he is personally visiting the FEFU to conduct a seminar for delegates of FEMUN 2017. The workshops and lectures from the invited expert will be directed on the issues related to the United Nations work as well as the UN4MUN procedural rules.
