Grant Competition of FEMUN 2017
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East is glad to announce the winners of the Grant Competition for the participation in the Far Eastern Model United Nations 2017 and their rewards:
1. Ms. Tatiana Rahozina (Belarus) – free accommodation for the days of the Conference;
2. Mr. Ilya Kopot (Russia, Blagoveshchensk) – 50 % reimbursement for travel expenses (economy class);
3. Ms. Shi Yue (China) – 50 % reimbursement for travel expenses (economy class).
The winners have shown their desire to take part in the unique Conference as well as their willingness to research on their agenda items. In frames of the Grant Competition the participants were required to submit a Motivational Letter and an Essay on one of the agenda items of the Conference. The Grant Competition is a traditional activity implemented in frames of MUNRFE Conferences aimed at attraction of non-Vladivostok and international participants.
The documents submitted in frames of the Competition were evaluated on the following criteria:
Content. The applicants should show the level of their knowledge on the agenda items, referring to the documents adopted by the United Nations and other international organizations on the topics of the FEMUN 2017 Committees.
Style. Applicants are to describe their vision of the agenda items and measure to form it into one comprehensive document where different ideas are smoothly interconnected. Format. All the documents are to be submitted in the format, explained in the Guide on Documents Writing.
Grammar and Vernacular. Applicants should show the level of their English language, using comprehensive grammar constructions and diplomatic lexis in order to compose their proposals and analysis on the agenda item. Documents submitted by the winners of the Competition brilliantly managed to become the best in following criteria listed above according to the evaluation conducted by the Secretariat of the Far Eastern Model United Nations 2017.
