‘‘Round Table — 2019’’ by MUNRFE Vladivostok Club has assembled more than 40 students in FEFU
On 3-13 April 2019, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club successfully carried out the ‘‘Round Table’’ (RT) 2019. This educational event was held in Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) under the leadership of Ms. Elizaveta Kalinina and Ms. Daria Kurushina. The participants of the RT got an opportunity to enhance their knowledge on the topic of humanitarian aid during lectures and then debate on the agenda item "Strengthening international cooperation in humanitarian assistance" in frames of Model United Nations simulation.
During the two weeks of the project, FEFU and other Vladivostok universities’ and schools’ students attended lectures about humanitarian aid and global migration processes, as well as the role of the United Nations in providing lifesaving assistance by invited experts namely FEFU International Relations Department Assistant Professor Dr. Andrey Kozinets, FEFU International Relations Department Assistant Professor Ms. Marina Pershina as well as experienced MUNRFE members.
In addition to that, the project featured trainings on «Critical thinking» and «Art of debates» by the upcoming Far Eastern Model United Nations' 2019 Under-Secretary-General for Political, Economic and Social Affairs Ms. Anna Timokhina and MUNRFE Executive Director Ms. Aleksandra Kosyreva. Lastly, before the Final Debates, the Chairpersons of the event namely Vladivostok Club President Ms. Daria Zlydar and Vladivostok Club Member Ms. Aleksandra Chernysheva made the participants acquainted with the Rules of Procedure as well as conducted a mini-briefing on the agenda item.
Following the results of the RT 2019 Final Debates, Ms. Kristina Tolmacheva was recognized as an “Outstanding Delegate’’ and awarded with free participation in the FEMUN 2019, while Ms. Alina Medved was acknowledged as a ‘‘Distinguished Delegate’’ and Mr. Oleg Povzyk as ‘‘Honorable Mention delegate’’. Moreover, Ms. Elena Rozanova was granted a box of chocolates with MUNRFE symbolic and a certificate as an Instagram contest winner.
