MUNRFE delegation receives the “Outstanding Delegation” award at the NMUN NY 2021
MUNRFE Leadership Program finished with the anniversary tenth participation in the National Model United Nations - New York 2021 held on March 28-31. As a result, MUNRFE team (the only Russian delegation) was recognized as the recipient of the “Outstanding Delegation” and two Position Paper awards.
This year's team was comprised of the winners of the Annual Conference 2019 and 2020, thus, being one of the biggest ones in the history of the Organization.
The composition of the team was as follows:
Ms. Daria Kurushina and Mr. Maksim Sorokin at the General Assembly First Committee, Ms. Polina Babenko at the General Assembly Second Committee, Ms. Tatiana Akuneeva and Ms. Aleksandra Mikhailiuk at the General Assembly Third Committee, Ms. Diana Ilyaskina at the United Nations Environment Assembly, Ms. Alyona Plekhanova at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, Ms. Christina Tolmacheva at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Mr. Ilya Moroz at the Security Council, and Mr. Danil Vinokurov at the Commission on the Status of Women.
The MUNRFE Deputy Executive Director Ms. Daria Zlydar served as the adviser of the delegation. As a result of a selection process in frames of the Conference, she was appointed as the Chairperson to the Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and MUNRFE Executive Director, Mr. Aleksei Stanonis, was appointed as the Security Council Chairperson.
Additionally, delegate to the General Assembly Second Committee Ms. Polina Babenko and delegates to the General Assembly First Committee Ms. Daria Kurushina and Mr. Maksim Sorokin have received the "Outstanding Position Paper" awards.

The National Model United Nations – New York is the world’s oldest and largest Model UN Conference that annually hosts around 6000 delegates from 130 countries. NMUN has been a recognized Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications since 1982 and a UN Academic Impact member since 2013. This year MUNRFE participated at the NMUN NY Conference for the anniversary tenth time.
