“Round Table 2021” was conducted in cooperation with FEFU and HSE University
On April 3-10, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club conducted a set of lectures on human rights by invited HSE University speakers and final debates in terms of the “Round Table 2021” hybrid-format project.
On April 5, Dr. Vera Rusinova, Head of the School of International Law of the HSE University, covered the topic of mass surveillance and the protection of digital rights. On April 7, Dr. Dmitry Dubrovsky, Associate Professor of Department of Political Science and International Affairs at the HSE University, delivered a lecture on international human rights institutions, the United Nations human rights treaty system, and current challenges to international human rights law.
Before the Final Debates, a concluding event in frames of the project, the Secretariat of the simulated committee, the UN Human Rights Council, Ms. Christina Tolmacheva and Ms. Polina Babenko, held a briefing about the agenda item “Prevention of human trafficking in South East Asia” and the rules of procedure. The debate session was conducted offline on the premises of the Far Eastern Federal University. As a result of the final evaluation, Ms. Ekaterina Eremina (France) was recognized as the “Distinguished delegate”, whereas Ms. Maria Pankova (Republic of Korea) became the recipient of the “Outstanding Delegate” award.
“Round Table” is a traditional MUNRFE educational in-Club project that allows the participants to broaden their knowledge of certain global challenges and practice debates skill prior to the major MUNRFE events.
