Vladivostok MUNRFE Club met a visiting professor from Sydney


On November, 9, Vladivostok MUNRFE Club met Prof. Salvatore Babones, Ph.D., an Associate Professor and Research Coordinator for Ph.D. students at the Department of Sociology and Social Policy, University of Sydney. Prof. Babones has acquired his degree in one of the world-class universities - Johns Hopkins University and came to Far Eastern Federal University as a visiting professor.

The guest made a brief presentation about measures of power in contemporary world politics, and proceeded to the Q&A session. The range of asked questions was wide: from exact country’s policy and intergovernmental relations between states to personal opinion on the hottest conflicts in the world – in Ukraine and Iraq. After the meeting MUNRFE members had an opportunity to continue the conversation with professor in more informal atmosphere. Everyone noticed him as an open person and qualified professional.

Autumn Master-Classes in Far Eastern Federal University: report


The traditional Autumn Master-Classes 2014 "Four weeks for achievements” were successfully conducted in the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. The concept of the Master-Classes was aimed to show the participants the best way to achievements that can be easily reached through developing of such skills as public speaking, teamwork and debating. Totally, more than 50 participants completed a four-week course of 25 different lectures and trainings, including usual concepts and newly presented ones by Ms. Olga Katina and Mr. Lavrentiy Pak.

"Journey to Success" Master-Classes: results


Since 18th of September till 25th of October Master-Classes “Journey to Success” were successfully implemented in Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service by Vladivostok MUNRFE Club. For these 4 weeks our participants were listening to the traditional MUNRFE lectures, as well as 2 newly presented ones by Olga Katina and Lavrenty Pak. Moreover, numerous trainings, aimed both at learning and understanding the lectures better, were conducted on each day of the MC. This turned out to be very productive way of teaching and at the very end of the MC, especially during the Final Conference, participants of MC “Journey to Success” have shown really significant results. After this challenge the majority of participants expressed their desire to become members of Vladivostok MUNRFE Club and continue their development through our activities, including the participation in the upcoming Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014.

The “Journey to Success” MC in Vladivostok became one of the most successful projects, implemented in VSUES in the recent history. Vladivostok Club looks forward to expand MUNRFE activities from FEFU to other universities and organizations.

"MUN School: Broadening the Global Vision” has been successfully conducted in Khabarovsk!


During four weeks the Pacific National University (PNU) was hosting an event organized by members of Khabarovsk MUNRFE Club – "MUN School: Broadening the Global Vision”. Students from PNU, Khabarovsk State Academy of Economics and Law (KSAEL), Far Eastern State Transport University (FETSU), Far Eastern Institute of International Relations and Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration have accomplished a challenging and exciting path of new knowledge in leadership, public-speaking, time-management, negotiations, goal-setting and many more. All participants have received a unique experience of both individual and team work, being divided into the four teams representing Mexico, Greece, Ireland and Morocco. During the last week of MUN School the participants tired themselves in the roles of ambassadors of different States. In frames of the UN General Assembly, the delegates discussed the issue of UN Reform, providing various ideas and proposals. In the end of MUN School each participant has received a certificate of participation.

The Grant Competition to participate in the Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014 has been prolonged!

| Annual Conference

Due to the enormous number of applications MUNRFE decided to prolong the deadline for the Grant Competition to participate in the Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014 till November, 16. The results of the Grant Competition will be published on our web-site by November, 21.

A delegate, willing to take part in the Competition, is to submit an essay on one of the agenda items of a chosen Committee (in the official language of the Committee) to the Secretariat e-mail secretary-general@munrfe.ru according to the format by November, 16, 2014. The documents sent after the deadline or which contain plagiarism will be automatically disregarded.

Participation in the Competition is available only for non-resident or international delegates, who have officially registered to participate in the Conference, made a registration fee payment, and received a confirmation letter with an assigned country from the Secretariat.

Winners of the Competition will get:

1. refund for the registration payment (will be paid back to a delegate during the Conference),

2. waived payment for accommodation in Vladivostok (hostel suggested by the Secretariat),

3. certificate of achievement along with the Best Delegates of the Conference.

Other expenses should be covered by a participant himself. The fact that a candidate does not win the Competition does not deprive him from participation in the Conference.

MUNRFE officials took part in the Second Russia-ASEAN Youth Summit


On 17-19 October 2014 the delegation from Vladivostok took part in the Second Russia-ASEAN Youth Summit “Young Russia – Young ASEAN: Contributors to Greater Connectivity” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Mr. Vitaliy E. Savenkov, MUNRFE Director-General, and Ms. Olga V. Katina, the Secretary-General of the Annual MUNRFE Conference 2014, successfully represented Far Eastern Federal University while participating in the activities of the Summit framed in several workshops, including Trade and Investment, Mass Media, Education, Regional/Global Security Threats and Moderate Stand in International Affairs. Together with other eighty young leaders from Russia and all over ASEAN they discussed various issues of bilateral and multilateral concern between South East Asian countries and Russian Federation.
