Students discussed the Russia-EU Relations in frames of the MUNRFE Vladivostok Club project
On December 18, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club successfully conducted the “Russia-EU Relations: Case for Closer Cooperation” project during which students had an opportunity to listen to a lecture delivered by Mr. Egor Sergeev, the Associate Professor of Economics from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
The lecturer covered the topic of Political and Economic Relations Between Russia and the European Union (EU) discussing the product competition, energy dependency and transit transmission, current obstacles to further economic cooperation, as well as the Crimean question and issues of human rights as the main impediments to better relations between Russia and EU. Students also expressed their interest in the impact of security issues, such as terrorism and the migration crisis, on the further development of Russia-EU cooperation.
In the closing remarks, Mr. Egor Sergeev thanked the MUNRFE for inviting him to the discussion of such an important topic and expressed the desire to participate in other projects of the Organization.
