MUNRFE at C-MIMUN 2023 in Moscow
On April 16-21, MUNRFE Delegation participated in the Churkin - Moscow International MUN 2023 in Moscow.
The team composed of the awardees of the MUNRFE AC 2021 and 2022, as well as FEMUN 2022, namely Ms. Aleksandra Kurnakova, Ms. Alina Vidyakina, Mr. Artem Safronov, Ms. Chimita Choinzhinova, Ms. Ksenia Zaytceva, Ms. Maria Chizhova, Mr. Maxim Krivonosov, and Ms. Svetlana Stroiteleva under the guidance of the delegation adviser Ms. Polina Dolgopolova have successfully performed at the Conference.
As a result of intensive preparation, contribution to the debates and substance in their Committees, high-level professionalism, leadership capacities, and negotiation skills, Maria Chizhova and Maxim Krivonosov were recognized as Best delegates, while Chimita Choinzhinova and Alina Vidyakina were Honorable mentioned by their Presidiums at the Closing ceremony.
The delegates were assigned with 5 committees, and discussed the following agenda items:
Economic and Social Council
The impact of unilateral extraterritorial coercive economic measures on the quality of life,
Inclusive and Sustainable Development of Syria in the aftermath of humanitarian crisis provoked by the earthquakes;
Food and Agriculture Organization
Habitat destruction caused by human agricultural activities;
International Civil Aviation Organization
Modernisation of Chicago Convention on International Civil Aviation (1947);
United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization
Protection of cultural heritage and development of creative potential;
UN Security Council
Humanitarian situation in Syria amid the consequences of the earthquakes,
The situation in Sudan.
Besides the participation in the Conference, the Delegation visited several offices of international institutions:
Office of UN High Commissioner for Refugees in Moscow where they had a briefing conducted by Mr. Karim Atassi, UNHCR Russia Representative;
Office of International Committee of the Red Cross, Regional Delegation for the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus with a briefing from Mr. Vitaly Savenkov, Humanitarian Affairs Adviser and MUNRFE alumnus, Ms. Nailia Mirsaitova, Legal Adviser, Ms. Ekaterina Mikheeva, Communication Officer.
