MUNRFE welcomes the NMUN China 2018 team Adviser – Ms. Aleksandra Kosyreva
The Far Eastern Model UN 2018, which was conducted on May 4-7, resulted in the selection of the recipients of Diplomacy Awards who will represent MUNRFE at the National Model UN 2018 in Xi’an, China. Those delegates showed their capacities to perform successfully at the Conference.
In this regard, MUNRFE is pleased to introduce to you the NMUN China 2018 team adviser – MUNRFE Vladivostok Club Acting President Ms. Aleksandra Kosyreva. She will be in charge of the delegations entire preparation process for upcoming NMUN.
Representing the Organization at the National Model UN Kobe, Japan 2016 and National Model UN New York, USA 2017, Ms. Kosyreva demonstrated her proficiency as a delegate. At NMUN-Japan, she received an Outstanding Delegate award along with Outstanding Position Paper award and Outstanding Delegation award. Furthermore, at the NMUN New York 2017, her delegation earned an Honorable Mention Delegation award.
MUNRFE Annual Conference 2018 preview
December 2018 is going to be marked by one of the most exciting events organized by MUNRFE – Annual Conference 2018. The Conference is to take place on December 7-10, 2018 in Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok, Russia. It is going to be the 17th Conference of this format conducted by MUNRFE.
MUNRFE Annual Conference (MUNRFE AC) is conducted in the form of Model UN simulation, where delegates represent UN Member States, discuss global agenda items in frames of simulated UN bodies, and write officially formatted resolutions, which contain their proposals how to tackle the problems.
Besides debate sessions, the Conference includes lectures and seminars delivered by the invited experts. Last year, MUNRFE AC 2017 hosted Mr. Oleg Dunaev, International Expert on Development in Russian-speaking subdivision of the International Evaluation Network - EVALSDGs located in Moscow.
Blagoveshchensk MUNRFE Club President gave an interview at the Amur regional television
On May 24 the President of the Blagoveshchensk Club Mr. Ilya Kopot' was invited to Amur Regional television for an interview on the results of participation of MUNRFE delegation in National Model United Nations in New York, USA (May, 18-22). During the interview Mr. Kopot’ expressed his opinion and feelings about the Conference, United Nations Headquarters and the USA in general, as well as shared pleasant news about received award. Furthermore, Mr. Kopot’ and the reporter discussed the attitudes of the American students towards their Russian colleagues and the possibilities of establishing international ties with foreign students at events of such level.
“FireStarter 2018” registration is in progress
The Summer Program “FireStarter 2018” registration process is well under way. The geographical coverage of the Program is being expanded. It has already gathered participants from Amur Region, Primorsky Territory, and Khabarovsk Territory. Thus, the participants a going to have a great opportunity to find friends from different regions of the Far East.
In order to join the most exciting event of this summer, you need to fill in the application form which you can find in the section “FireStarter 2018” and then pass the Skype interview. Those who are from Vladivostok or Blagoveshchensk can just contact the Coordinator or the Representative of the Program, arrange an interview where they will also be able to do the application form.
MUNRFE became the co-organizer of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day at Far Eastern Federal University
On May 21, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club members, in particular, Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva, Ms. Daria Zlydar, Ms. Anastasia Kuklina, Ms. Anna Timokhina, Mr. Vsevolod Cheresov, Ms. Galina Salnikova, Ms. Yana Linkevich, Ms. Diana Tereshchenko, Ms. Ayuna Tarbaeva, Ms. Sandaara Philippova, and Ms. Alyona Plekhanova, participated in the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial Day at Far Eastern Federal University. The event was devoted to remembering people who suffered because of Acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
Ms. Kiseleva attended the E4J Workshop at the UNODC Headquarters
On May 22-24, 2018 MUNRFE Executive Officer Ms. Elena Kiseleva successfully attended the Education for Justice (E4J) Model United Nations (E4JMUN) Workshop at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Headquarters in Vienna, Austria. Together with 30 MUN representatives and educators from all over the globe, Ms. Kiseleva had an incredible opportunity to engage with the UNODC staff in elaborating the strategy for the promotion of the E4J initiative. The workshop was led by Best Delegate, with guest speakers from UNODC, the UN Department of Public Information, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) and THIMUN Qatar.In frames of the Workshop, Elena was working in the university track together with other MUN activists, while learning about UNODC key mandate areas and the ways to promote and incorporate the E4J initiative through the simulation of the UNODC-related committees.
