On September 17, the first lectures of Blagoveshchensk MUNRFE Master Classes (MC), were conducted in the Amur State University. 23 participants had an opportunity to get to know about the work of MUNRFE, and its current activities. This year, the Blago MC were joined by international students from China, which was a significant progress for the project.

In the beginning, Ms. Elisaveta Sungurova, the President of MUNRFE Blagoveshchensk Club, greeted the new participants and encouraged everyone to be active during the whole Master Classes. Also, the ex-president of the Club, Mr. Il’ya Kopot’, delivered a lecture on goal-setting. The lecture included a piece of training where the attendees showed their interest in the project and their encouragement to attend other MC activities.

On September 14, MUNRFE Blagoveschensk Club had a remarkable event for the entire MUNRFE - the Presidential Elections. Mrs. Marina Katynskaya, one of the most outstanding alumnae of Blagoveshchensk Club, performed as an independent expert at the Elections.

The Club considered the Presidential Statement submitted by Ms. Elisaveta Sungurova. As a result, Ms. Sungurova was unanimously elected as a new President and appointed Ms. Oksana Guliychuk as her Vice-President.

Ms. Elisaveta Sungurova introduced her Program of work to the Club where she described her vision and innovative ideas. The proposals outlined in the Program generated an active discussion within club-members regarding the further development of MUNRFE Blagoveschensk Club and a Q&A session.

On August 13-26, the Organization successfully implemented its traditional Summer Program for high-school students “FireStarter”. This year the project was conducted in summer camp “Asteroid” in the city of Ussuriysk.

“FireStarter 2018” gathered 23 schoolchildren from 10 cities aged from 12 to 17 interested in their self-development and advancement of their English-speaking skills. Throughout the Program, its participants had a chance to acquire knowledge in the concepts of leadership, goal-setting, teamwork, and to get acquainted with the United Nations functioning and Sustainable Development Goals initiative at everyday lectures and trainings.

Additionally, being divided into 3 teams since the beginning of the Program they were actively involved into various competitions demonstrating their critical thinking, talents, creativity and mainly team spirit.

On August 13, 23 bright high school students wishing to change for better came in the summer camp “Asteroid” to improve their English and master such skills as time management, goal setting, debating, and many others.

A week of lectures and trainings, intellectual games, and various entertainments conducted entirely in English was a new experience for the majority of the participants. It proved that the firestarters had a lot of energy and inspiration to absorb everything they learnt and improve rapidly.

During this week, the participants of FireStarter 2018 had their first team activities. They used all they learnt at the lectures as well as their own knowledge to accomplish all the tasks they had. The participants had a chance to show their intelligence at “Brain ring” and the Parliamentary debates where they discussed various pieces of agenda.

Today, on August 18, the seventh United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Kofi Annan died after a short illness.

MUNRFE highly appreciates the contribution to the development of the work of the United Nations made by this great Ghanian diplomat and expresses its condolences to his family and all those who were close to him.

Kofi Annan served as the Secretary-General of the United Nations from 1997 to 2006. One of his main priorities was the comprehensive reform aimed at revitalizing the work of the UN and making the international system more effective. Besides, under his initiative, the UN Peacekeeping was strengthened in ways that enabled the United Nations to cope with a rapid rise in the number of operations and personnel.

This autumn, MUNRFE organizes Master Classes in Vladivostok and Blagoveshchensk.

MUNRFE Vladivostok Club is going to conduct Autumn Master Classes 2018 “Never stop growing” from September 28 to November 4 on the premises of Far Eastern Federal University Campus in Vladivostok city.

MUNRFE encourages students and high schoolers from Vladivostok willing to boost personal and professional growth to attend the Big Presentation of the AMC 2018 which will take place on September 28 in FEFU.

Also, Blagoveshchensk MUNRFE Master Classes “Think bigger” are to be organized from September 17 to October 5 in Amur State University in Blagoveshchensk city.

Participation in the MUNRFE Autumn Master Classes 2018 will not only boost personal development of young people but also offer participants an opportunity to practice their English through constant communication.
