MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016 has been successfully conducted
On 12-24 September, MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016 was held in the Amur State University (AmSU) under the leadership of Ms. Anastasia Klopova. The main goal of this project was to make an introduction to the system of international relations, humanitarian law and the United Nations. A complex of lectures contributed to the preparation of the participants to the final event of the School – a Model UN debate session. The first day of the project was devoted to the public speaking strategies and techniques presented by the President of Vladivostok MUNRFE Club, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova. On the next day participants got acquainted with negotiation techniques, and deepened their knowledge about consensus-building under the guidance of MUNRFE Executive Director, Ms. Ksenia Shevtsova.
The third day of MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016 was saturated with information about the upcoming agenda item for debate. Dr. Natalia A. Zhuravel, AmSU Associate Professor, delivered a lecture about Humanitarian Law and the issues regarding humanitarian crises. Furthermore, Mr. Martin Smith, the esteemed guest from England, devoted his speech to the rules of great presentation and crucial ideas about decision-making and responsible management. The participants of fourth day of MUNRFE School 2016 had an opportunity to ask questions to Mr. Alexander Druzhinin and get the answers about the work of the United Nations Security Council and its mandate. Moreover, that day Ms. Joanna Kirienko devoted her speech to the essence of leadership and the myths about it. The final day of the project was devoted to the procedural rules of debates in the Security Council. Ms. Alexandra Gritsenko conducted a training on public-speaking and helped participants to simulate the key processes and the interactions between the delegates. During the final day of MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016 the participants took the roles of diplomats and became the delegates struggling to find consensus on the issue “Humanitarian crisis in Syria” in frames of the Security Council. According to votes of the delegates, Mr. Alexander Rasskazov became a winner of the MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016 debate session and got a special award - free participation in the 15th MUNRFE Anniversary Conference.
Presidential Elections in Vladivostok MUNRFE Club
On September, 23 the Presidential Elections took place in Vladivostok MUNRFE Club. Two bright young ladies, members of the former Presidential team Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova and Ms. Alena Filimonova, were competing for the most prestigious and responsible position of the Club. The election process included the presentations by both candidates, as well as Q&A sessions with the members of the Club and the Board officers.
As the result, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova was re-elected as the President of Vladivostok MUNRFE Club for the second term by a majority vote. Consequently, another beatiful young lady was appointed as the Vice-President of Vladivostok Club - Ms. Yana Krasnitskaya. MUNRFE would like to warmly congratulate both ladies and wish them good luck and every success.
Special guests at the MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016
On 12-24 September, MUNRFE School - Blagoveshchensk 2016 was held in the Amur State University (AmSU) to introduce young leaders to the world of international relations, humanitarian law and the United Nations.
On 17th of September Dr. Natalia A. Zhuravel, AmSU Associate Professor, delivered a lecture about the Humanitarian Law and the key problems of humanitarian crisis-management worldwide.
Besides, it was a great luck for MUNRFE to invite Mr. Martin Smith, an experienced manager of a high profile from England and the former Deputy CEO of Petropavlovsk PLC, who came to Blagoveshchensk for a day but found time to come and give a talk to students about the strategies of smart presentations and decision-making. Furthermore, MUNRFE is grateful to Ms. Joanna Kirienko, an outstanding MUNRFE alumna, for organizing the meeting with Mr. Smith and sharing her knowledge and experience about leadership with the participants.

Welcome the new MUNRFE Executive Director
On September, 25, the composition of the Board changed. Ms. Elena Kiseleva, the current Deputy Executive Director was promoted to the position of MUNRFE Executive Director. MUNRFE congratulates Ms. Kiseleva with her regular promotion and wish her good luck and every success. There is no doubt she is capable of combining the leadership over the key project of MUNRFE and all operational activities of MUNRFE in general.
At the same time, under mutual agreement one of the key people within the Organization, Ms. Ksenia Shevtsova, left the position of MUNRFE Executive Director. In this regard, MUNRFE would like to thank Ms. Shevtsova for her immeasurable contribution towards the organization success and development. Her exceptional importance and devotion towards MUNRFE was underlined by MUNRFE Director-General, Ms. Vitaly Savenkov, who awarded Ms. Shevtsova with MUNRFE Certificate of Commendation - the highest official award of MUNRFE, which was given to the current member of the Organization for the first time. Thankfully Ms. Shevtsova is ready to work for MUNRFE further, that is why she will continue her devoted service in the capacity of the Counselor for External Affairs.
Call for the Secretariat of the 15th MUNRFE Anniversary Conference
All MUNRFE Secretariat officers are notable in special capabilities to listen, analyze, research and to keep the track of any discussion. In this regard, MUNRFE announces the Call for the Secretariat of the 15th MUNRFE Anniversary Conference. We are looking for bright and ambitious individuals acquiring profound Model UN experience, who are ready to work and to contribute to the project, in the following committees:
- General Assembly (Russian language);
- Security Council (English language);
- Human Rights Council (English language);
- World Bank (English language).
Please, take into consideration the following responsibilities of the Secretariat Officers:
- Preparation of the Background Guides on assigned agenda items;
- Conducting trainings on procedural rules for the delegates;
- Chairing the сommittee (keeping track of the speakers list and draft resolutions, conducting roll-call and voting);
- Providing advisory support for the delegates in terms of procedural and substantive matters during the Conference;
- Keeping protocol of the meetings.
MUNRFE School 2016 in the Amur State University
Students of the Amur State University (AmSU) and schoolchildren of Blagoveshchensk have a marvelous chance to become a part of a large-scale youth movement led by Model United Nations of the Russian Far East (MUNRFE).
MUNRFE invites young leaders to attend MUNRFE School 2016, which will be held on 12-24, September, in AmSU. A range of practical trainings, presentations and interesting lectures by high-qualified professors of AmSU and experienced MUNRFE members, participants of MUN conferences in New-York, Beijing, Jakarta and many other cities of the world, are waiting for participants of the project. Furthermore, students will take a chance to debate on the agenda item “Humanitarian crisis in Syria” in frames of the final event of the project, defending interests of represented states. In this regard, the participants will be granted with opportunity to get involved into the discussion of the global issue and to find solutions of it.
