The year of 2019 was no less full of different events than others. MUNRFE members were organizing numerous events, promoting MUNRFE values in different places all over the world, and bringing up new leaders of the future. Now, it is high time to wrap up 2019 – what has been achieved, who has started to shine more, and what positive emotions are left.
The first part of the results of 2019 are the Conferences, which were conducted by MUNRFE and which MUNRFE delegations took part in.
The spring was the most active period in terms of participation in MUNs. First of all, on March 24-28, the winners of MUNRFE Annual Conference 2018 participated in National Model UN 2019 in New York, the USA.
MUNRFE delegations going for international conferences traditionally visit a few UN structures, Russian representations, and other institutions. Apart from the successful participation in the International Model UN Malaysia 2019, Alina Medved, Daria Kurushina, Oleg Powzyk, Polina Dolgopolova, and the team adviser - Daria Zlydar, attended the meetings with the representatives of the United Nations Global Compact Network, the World Federation of United Nations Associations, the Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Kuala Lumpur, and the University Tunku Abdul Rahman.
On 5 December, the MUNRFE Annual Conference 2019 has officially started. The Conference gathered around 90 participants from various parts of Russia and abroad on the premises of Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok. The participants represent United Nations Member States to four committees, namely: East Asia Summit, UN Environmental Assembly, UN Security Council as well as World Bank.
The introductory word was given by Dr. Danil A. Scherban, FEFU Deputy Vice-President for International Relations, who emphasized the importance of holding such events to promote youth-to-youth level communication, build bonds with the future leaders, who, Mr. Scherban insisted, are the leaders of today capable of improving our contemporary world. Further, Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva, MUNRFE Executive Director, expressed her deepest gratitude to MUNRFE strategic partner - Far Eastern Federal University - for the constant support of the Organization’s activities and events.
On September 27 – November 3, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club Master-Classes 2019 “Through Difficulties to the Stars” were successfully held in Far Eastern Federal University under the leadership of Oleg Powzyk and Polina Dolgopolova. After the five weeks of educational lectures, practical training and various contests, the 55 participants were awarded with the certificates for successful completion of the project.
On November 22-24, MUNRFE delegation participated in the International Model UN 2019 (IMUN 2019) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The team composed of the winners of Far Eastern Model UN 2019, namely Alina Medved, Oleg Povzyk, Polina Dolgopolova, Daria Kurushina under the guidance of the delegation adviser – Daria Zlydar have successfully performed at the Conference.
Having demonstrated a high level of professionalism, leadership capacities, and deep knowledge of the Committees’ mandate and agenda items, Daria Kurushina and Oleg Povzyk were recognized as Best delegates, Polina Dolgopolova grabbed the Most Outstanding delegate award, Alina Medved and Daria Zlydar received Position Paper awards.
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East (MUNRFE) is delighted to announce the results of the Grant Competition for the MUNRFE Annual Conference 2019.
A lot of people took part in the Competition for covering a part of or all the travel and accommodaton expenditures for the MUNRFE Annual Conference 2019. The Secretariat was into tough delaborations while choosing the winners.
