On 2-6 March 2020, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club member Alexandra Mikhailuk joined the Model UN MSU 2020, held on the premises of Moscow State University (MSU). Representing China, Alexandra became a delegate to the United Nations Environment Programme, in which the official language chosen was Russian. The work of the committee was focused on the agenda about the usage of disposable plastics.
The members of the MUNRFE delegation to the National Model United Nations – New York 2020 were honored with several prizes despite the cancellation of the NMUN-NY this year because of COVID-19. Daria Kurushina (General Assembly First Committee) and Christina Tolmacheva (General Assembly Second Committee) have got the Position Paper Awards for their outstanding work.
On February 3-6, MUNRFE representative Yana Linkevich made a trip to Bangkok, Thailand, having won a video contest organized by ASEAN Center in MGIMO University. During her cultural program, Yana was provided with an opportunity to make official visits to the Russian Embassy in Thailand, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) headquarters, and Thammasat University. On the final day of the journey, she took a sightseeing tour over the city.
On March 28, the MUNRFE Vladivostok Club for the fourth time conducted the Ecological project in cooperation with Far Eastern Federal University. This year it was implemented under the leadership of Polina Babenko and Ekaterina Eremina.
On March 3, Model United Nations of the Russian Far East took part in the Grand Opening Ceremony of the first BRICS Educational Internship Program, welcoming 70 international students willing to study the undergraduate and graduate programs on the majors of high priority for BRICS countries in the Russian city of Vladivostok.
