On September 21 and 25, the MUNRFE Vladivostok Club in collaboration with Far Eastern Federal University conducted “The UN for schools 2019”, a station game for high school students which aimed to familiarize young people with the United Nations (UN) and its influence in the world.
The FEFU Gymnasium and the International Linguistics School hosted the project.
The stations represented the main UN organs, the Sustainable Development Goals, and MUNRFE as a part of Model UN movement. The participantsl had a chance to learn the history and the principles of the UN, understand the purposes of its existence, and get acquainted with the MUNRFE values.
On August 30, MUNRFE Assistant Executive Director and the MUNRFE Annual Conference 2019 Secretary-General Aleksei Stanonis took part in the meeting of the winners of the grant competition of the Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs from Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) with FEFU President Nikita Yu. Anisimov.
Aleksei presented the Conference to the President, listed the goals set by the Secretariat this year, the current stage of the project and named a number of areas in which the support from the University is most necessary. Dr. Anisimov highly appreciated the work done so far, noting almost twenty years of successful MUNRFE activities in the field of youth leadership development and expressed the readiness of FEFU to provide the Secretariat of the Conference with the necessary administrative, informational and organizational support.
Помощник исполнительного директора Модели ООН на Дальнем Востоке и Генеральный секретарь Ежегодной конференции МООНДВ 2019 Алексей Станонис принял участие во встрече победителей грантового конкурса Федерального агентства по делам молодежи России из Дальневосточного федерального университета (ДВФУ) с ректором Никитой Юрьевичем Анисимовым, состоявшейся 30 августа.
Алексей представил проект конференции ректору, рассказав о задачах, которые ставит перед собой Секретариат в этом году, текущем этапе реализации проекта и назвал ряд сфер, в которых наиболее необходима поддержка со стороны университета. Никита Юрьевич высоко оценил проделанную работу, отметив также почти двадцатилетний опыт успешной деятельности МООНДВ по развитию лидерского потенциала молодёжи, и сообщил о готовности ДВФУ оказать Секретариату конференции необходимую поддержку административного, информационного и организационного характера.
On 3-6 August 3-6, 2019, MUNRFE Executive Director Alexandra Kosyreva successfully performed the duties of the Secretariat member in UN4MUN segment at the WEMUN Expo Conference organized by WELAND International. The Сonference was on held the premises of the Beijing Olympic Convention Center in Beijing, China and gathered over 1000 participants from more than 80 schools.
Ms. Kosyreva occupied the position of the Economic and Social Council Commission on Social Development Secretary which convened around 30 delegates discussing the agenda item “Social dimensions of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development”.
On July 25-27, MUNRFE organized a short-term course on the United Nations (UN) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for high-school students in the Russian Childrens Center “Ocean”. The program named “Children of the World” gathered young people from 14 countries including Russia, Laos, Vietnam, China, Republic of Korea, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Germany, Netherlands, Myanmar, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, and Algeria. Advisory Council Chairman Vitaly Savenkov, Executive Director Alexandra Kosyreva, Vladivostok Club President Daria Zlydar and Club member Ekaterina Eremina introduced key features of the sustainable development, history of the UN as well as public-speaking, negotiations and research techniques to more the 60 students.
From 22 July to 2 August 2019, Far Eastern Federal University and Harbin Institute of Technology held the Summer School on the premises of FEFU. The participants of the Program had a chance to explore one of the best Russian campuses, learn a bit of the Russian language and immerse into the Russian culture. Besides, the school aimed to generally foster the self-development of the HIT students. That is why MUNRFE members took part in the program as well by delivering lectures on soft skills, studying in FEFU, and the United Nations affairs.
