FireStarter 2017 was successfully conducted
On August 16-29, MUNRFE has successfully conducted its traditional summer program FireStarter 2017 in the Far Eastern Leisure Center «Ritm-10». 22 bright and ambitious high-school students from 7 cities of the Russian Far East have completed the program. The participants had an opportunity to fully plunge into the English-speaking atmosphere, as well as to develop their leadership potential. In frames of the program the participants accomplished a set of lectures and trainings organized by MUNRFE members. Moreover, all of them were constantly involved into numerous interactive activities of the camp. The camp was attended by the Second Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office in Vladivostok – Mr. Eugene S. Volosastov who has already contributed to the development of young leaders during FireStarter 2015 as well as other activities of MUNRFE.
FireStarter 2017 is open
On August 16, 2017, under the leadership of Vladivostok MUNRFE Club President Ms. Yana Krasnitskaya MUNRFE has officially started its key project aimed at the development of the youth of the Russian Far East – Summer Program FireStarter 2017, conducted in the Far Eastern Leisure Center «Ritm-10» near Vladivostok on August 16-29! The program gathered more than twenty brilliant high school students from Blagoveshchensk, Vladivostok, Fokino, Khabarovsk, Ussuriisk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur and other cities of the Russian Far East. All participants had to come through a selection process and prove their extensive knowledge as well as an ability to speak freely in English language in order to enjoy these 14 days of gripping trip to new endeavors.
MUNRFE Acting Executive Director Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva selected as USG DGCAAM at WIMUN 2018
MUNRFE Acting Executive Director Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva was selected to perform the duties of the Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management at WFUNA International Model United Nations Conference (WIMUN) in New York 2018. In summer 2017 Elena has successfully accomplished the international selection process and became the only representative from the Russian Federation in the Senior Secretariat of the conference. For the first time in history the representative of MUNRFE will be representing the organization in the Senior Secretariat of WIMUN.
This tremendous success became the result of numerous efforts Elena has contributed throughout the implementation and participation in related events and conferences. Her UN4MUN experience dates back to 2014, when she attended UN4MUN Workshop in Tokyo organized by the United Nations Department for Public Information. Later, she became the Secretary-General of the first UN4MUN Conference in Russia, Far Eastern Model UN 2016 organized in Vladivostok, Russia.
MUNRFE Acting Executive Director, Elena Kiseleva at WIMUN Expo 2017, China
On August 3-6, 2017 MUNRFE Acting Executive Director, Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva successfully participated in the Secretariat at WEMUN Expo Conference organized WELAND. The conference was organized at the Beijing Olympic Convention Center in Beijing, China. Elena became the only representative from the Russian Federation in the Secretariat of UN4MUN team and performed the duties of the Security Council Director for the High School division.
In 2017 WEMUN Expo brought together the members of internationally-recognized Model UN organizations as staff members from Boston University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, McGill University, University of Chicago, University of Pennsylvania, Yale University and others. Each secretariat team was running its own committees applying their specific rules of procedure. Along with secretariats from BeanMUN, CMUNC, ILMUNC, MUNUC, Oxford MUN, SSUNS and WEMUNC, UN4MUN team was running four committees applying the real-world UN's rules of procedure. WEMUN Expo is an internationally recognized Model United Nations platform headquartered in Beijing, China. It constitutes the largest permanent Model UN conference in Asia and gathers around 1500 delegates from 30 countries.
Vitaly Savenkov took part in the round table devoted to Russia-India relations
On August 10, 2017 the Far Eastern Federal University Expert and Analytical Center conducted the round table devoted to Russia-India relations. The event was attended by honorable guests: a.i. Representative of the MFA of Russia in Vladivostok Mr. Vladimir Konovalov, the Consul General of India to Vladivostok Mr. Vivek Singh, the Director-General of LLC “Primorsky Almaz” Mr. Sunil Gandhi. FEFU experts and researchers were represented by Prof. Felix Azhimov, Dr. Kirill Kolesnichenko, Dr. Artyom Lukin, Dr. Andey Gubin, Mr. Dmitry Shelest and the retired MUNRFE Director-General Mr. Vitaly Savenkov.
The round table remarkably commemorated the 70th Anniversary of Indian Independence this year. The main topics for the discussion included the issues of strategic partnership between Moscow and New Delhi, economic cooperation, including the Advanced Economic Zones and Vladivostok Free Port, as well as cultural exchange. Mr. Savenkov has successfully presented his report on the Russia-India cooperation within the international organizations and frameworks, such as the United Nations, BRICS, Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Eurasian Economic Union and etc. In course of fruitful and productive discussion all participants have agreed to continue such projects in future.
MUNRFE Acting Executive Director at the WFUNA Youth Camp: Korea 2017
On July 24-29 MUNRFE Acting Executive Director Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva has successfully participated in the implementation of the WFUNA Youth Camp Korea 2017 organized by the World Federation of United Nations Associations in cooperation with Kyung Hee University and the Hope to the Future Association. Prior the camp Elena has completed the international selection process and became the only representative from Russia along with 20 selected trainers from universities of Canada, France, Hong Kong, USA, Singapore, India and the Republic of Korea. Based on her performance during the interview process and MUN background, especially in the field of UN4MUN, Ms. Kiseleva was appointed to be the Lead Trainer for the Middle School track.
