MUNRFE Club in Blagoveshchensk finished the project #GlobalGoals! Each of 17 days was dedicated to one certain Goal, so in a special VK group #GlobalGoals, there were informative posts about the Goals and Global problems, besides there were posts and reposts with photos of people with Goals. The main idea of the Project was to increase the level of awareness about the Global Goals and Global problems.

Around the globe, millions of people set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights, and make noise for climate change action. At the same time, the most famous buildings and monuments of the world turn off the backlight for an hour. Each year, millions of people come together conducting various eco-projects, paying people’s attention to ecological issues. This year it will be traditionally held from 8:30 p.m . to 9.30 p.m. on March 25th, 2017 and people all over the world will welcome this great event with switching off the electricity at homes and creating amazing flash dances with candles and light sticks.

On March 13, 2017 MUNRFE for Schools has been successfully launched under the leadership of the Coordinator Ms. Anastasia Kretova. The first lecture was delivered by the Vice-President of Vladivostok MUNRFE Club, the winner of the MUNRFE 15th Anniversary Conference, Ms. Anna Timokhina, who visited the High School No. 63 in Vladivostok together with Ms. Kretova. In frames of the lecture Ms. Timokhina shared the knowledge about time-management and planning, and told about the differences between flexible and inflexible deals in daily routine. The students received a lot of new experience and knowledge while playing interactive games and other activities aimed at enhancing their time-management capacities. The lecture finished on positive note due to the active involvement of all students. After the lecture MUNRFE members invited the students to participate in the upcoming MUNRFE events, in particular, Far Eastern Model UN 2017 and FireStarter 2017, which will take place in May and August respectively.

MUNRFE is delighted to announce that the Summer Program "FireStarter 2017" will be conducted in Vladivostok. This year already traditional for the Organization event will be hosted by the children camp “Rhythm-10” on August, 9-22.

The Summer Program FireStarter 2017 is based on an educational concept, which consists of lectures and trainings on leadership, public-speaking, team work, goal-setting, professional English, international relations basics and etc. More than that, participants of the Program will plunge into English-speaking community for two weeks and use this time to strengthen their negotiation capacities. The final event of the Program will be held in the format of Model UN debates that will require all the knowledge and experience that participants would get throughout two weeks of FireStarter.

Model United Nations of the Russian Far East is delighted to invite the students of the Far Eastern Federal University to take part in the Round Table 2017, that will be conducted on March 20 – April 1.

The program of the Project is comprised of 5 lectures and trainings related to one of the most important global problems - the threat of global climate change and its influence on the mass migration, - delivered by high-qualified professors of FEFU and experienced MUNRFE members, winners of numerous MUN conferences in New York, Jakarta, Barcelona, Rome, Incheon, Beijing, Tokyo and many other cities worldwide.

On the final event of the project, the students will have a chance to perform as real diplomats at the United Nations, representing assigned countries and discussing the agenda “Influence of Climate Change on External Displacement”, using the knowledge acquired during lectures. The delegate who shows his or her outstanding skills of debating and public speaking, and also deep background of the discussed problem will be recognized as the winner of the Round Table. The award for the best delegate is free participation at the Far Eastern Model United Nations 2017, the only conference applying UN4MUN format in Russia.

On Monday, March 6, the students of the Far Eastern Federal University have had a chance to visit the presentation of the upcoming Far Eastern Model UN 2017. The Conference, which will take place on May 3-6, will become the second one conducted under the UN4MUN concept developed by the United Nations Department of Public Information.

At the presentation the Secretary-General of the Conference, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova, and Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management, Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva, guided participants to the world of Model UN, showing advantages of participation in active students’ life in FEFU. Moreover, the organizers presented the peculiarities of UN4MUN concept to participants, as well as discussed some infrastructural issues of the upcoming Conference.
