On the November 2, 2016 the members of Vladivostok MUNRFE Club had a great privilege to attend a meeting in a format of formal discussion with Mr. Salvatore Babones, Professor of Sociology and Social Policy of Sydney University. The scope of research and scientific interests of Prof. Salvatore Babones is very extensive and includes issues of world politics and economics, sociology, and international relations (including East Asia and the Asia-Pacific region). During the meeting the students discussed issues of nationalism, globalizationоn and immigration. Moreover, in frames of the meeting the participants discussed recent and modern political and social processes in the European Union and Eastern Europe. The whole discussion was very informative and attracted everyone’s interest.
MUNRFE representatives have successfully participated in the Fourth ASEAN – Russia Youth Summit in Cambodia. MUNRFE Counselor for External Affairs Ms. Ksenia Shevtsova, Deputy Executive Director Ms. Victoria Yavorskaya and Vladivostok Club President Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova were invited to participate in Summit as the organizers of the previous Third Summit, which was implemented in Vladivostok in 2015.
The Fourth Summit was held on October 24-27, 2016 in Siem Reap, Cambodia and organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia and ASEAN Centre in MGIMO-University. The summit was aimed at strengthening youth cooperation in the spheres of education and culture. Representing the Far Eastern Federal University, Ms. Shevtsova made a presentation on this agenda and shared her proposals on enhancing educational cooperation.
MUNRFE is glad to introduce two persons who will be performing the duties of MUNRFE Press Secretaries, being in charge of the informational coverage of the organization. Please, welcome Ms. Diana Novikova and Mr. Daniel Amirul.
These two bright and young persons have successfully passed the application process, having expressed their will to apply their writing capacities in the role of Press Secretaries of the organization. Both of MUNRFE members, Ms. Novikova and Mr. Amirul, have been actively involved in the life of Vladivostok Club throughout their time in MUNRFE.
We hope that the newly appointed Press Team will contribute to the development of the organization by providing acute and interesting informational coverage of our numerous events. We wish Ms. Novikova and Mr. Amirul good luck and to enhance their creativity and writing skills in the new role.
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East is delighted to invite the students of the Far Eastern Federal University to attend the Presentation of the MUNRFE 15th Anniversary Conference on October 28, 2016 (18:30) in the Far Eastern Federal University, auditorium D347. The organizers of the Conference will provide the students will the information about the event, covering the most common questions on the registration, preparation for the conference, debating process and other important issues. During the Presentation, each student will have an opportunity to refer their questions directly to the Secretary-General of the Conference.
MUNRFE 15th Anniversary Conference is a traditional annual event aimed at increasing the awareness of the participants of the United Nations agenda through the simulation of its work. This year the Conference will be conducted on December, 2-5, 2016 in the unique and innovative campus of Far Eastern Federal University. The participants will be able to enhance their leadership skills, to learn how to debate and come to the consensus while debating in diplomatic Russian and English languages, and to strengthen their capacity to work in a team. The delegates will be discussing the most urgent problems of the modern world, such as crisis in Syria, placement of arms race in outer space, ensuring safety and rights of journalists in armed conflicts and other global issues under the careful guidance of the Secretariat, comprised of the awardees and winners of international Model UN conferences in New-York, Jakarta, Incheon, Istanbul, Tokyo and Moscow.
Youth-led organization Model United Nations of the Russian Far East (MUNRFE) is delighted to provide young leaders of Vladivostok with a great opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the sphere of international relations and diplomacy. In this regard, the School of International Relations will be conducted from on November 7-12, 2016 in Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service (VSUES). Participating in aforementioned project students will be able to attend informative and exiting educational lectures about Agenda 2030, International Law and the United Nations structure, delivered by high-qualified professors of VSUES and experienced MUNRFE members, winners of numerous MUN conferences in New-York, Incheon, Beijing, Barcelona, Tokyo, Jakarta, Rome and many other cities worldwide.
This October MUNRFE Vladivostok Club has launched prospective collaboration with the All-Russian Children Center “Okean” by assisting with preparation and implementation of the program “Young diplomat” conducted for the first time together with Far Eastern Federal University.
On October 9, participants of the program “Young Diplomat” were given an opportunity to listen to the lectures on public speaking, delivered by 10 members of the Vladivostok MUNRFE Club. Divided into 10 groups, young diplomats were learning how to be professional public speakers through both listening to the theoretical aspects and practicing newly-gained knowledge. The lectures were the part of the participants’ preparation for two events of the program: debates and projects’ presentation.
The debates were prepared and conducted by MUNRFE as well. The debate session was held on October 10, and led by 5 members of the Organization, namely Ms. Ksenia Shevtsova, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova, who served as judges, Mr. Ivan Kumets, who was a compere, as well as Ms. Aleksandra Kosyreva and Mr. Igor Glimbitsky, who assisted participants of the discussion. Six participants were performing in front of the others, discussing the topic “The role of diplomacy in solving of the North Korean crisis”.
