To begin with, GMUN stands not for Genuine, but for Global Model United Nations – the first UN-organized conference to be held on 5 – 7 August 2009 at the Palais des Nations in Geneva, which will be a simulation of the General Assembly plenary and four of its Main Committees – the First Committee (Disarmament and International Security), the Second Committee (Economic and Financial), the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural), and the Fourth (Special Political and Decolonization).
Finally, one of the most expected events of the summer – MUNRFE Summer Workshop 2009 took place in the city of Vladivostok. 15 MUNRFE members were taught deeply about MUN debates, negotiations, caucus techniques, game theory, and public speaking.
