MUNRFE at the office of China Written Works Copyright Society
On November 16, MUNRFE Delegation to NMUN Xian visited the office of China Written Works Copyright Society (CWWCS) headed by Mr. Zhang Hongbo. The representatives of CWWCS, namely Mr. Liang Fei, Vice Director-General, Ms. Wang Danruo, Assistant Director-General as well as Ms. Feng Kaining, Legal and Licensing Department and Foreign Rights Department staff member, hosted MUNRFE team and introduced to them the work and successful practices of the center.
Being an all-China non-governmental organization, CWWCS united 12 governmental institutions and more than 500 Chinese authors as the founders. The Society performs as the body for collecting and distributing royalties and providing licenses for reproduction in newspapers, periodicals, and textbooks. Furthermore, CWWCS serves as an executive entity of China-Russia and China-Belarus Inter-Government Literature Translation and Publication Program and engages in licensing adaption rights of films, theatre plays, and television works.
MUNRFE delegation to NMUN pays a visit to the Russian Embassy and Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, China
On November 15, MUNRFE members attended the briefing at the Embassy of Russia in the Peoples Republic of China. The delegation was privileged to receive the welcoming address of H.E. Andrey Denisov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People’s Republic of China, the former Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations and United Nations Security Council. Furthermore, the delegates paid the visit to the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, where they had a conversation with Mrs. Olga Melnikova, the Counsellor of the Russian Embassy and the Director of the Center, about the promotion of Russian culture in China and cultural aspects of Russia-China relations.
MUNRFE Vladivostok Club successfully conducted Autumn Master Classes 2018
On September 28 – November 4, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club Master Classes (MC) 2018 “Never Stop Growing” were successfully held in Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok. The project was conducted under the leadership of its Coordinators, namely Mr. Vsevolod Cheresov and Ms. Daria Zlydar. The 65 graduates of the project got acquainted with secrets of a true leader, learned how to organize effective teamwork, present speeches in front of large public, set goals and attain them, and wisely manage their time.
After the first week all participants were divided into teams coordinated by the advisers, whose duties were performed by experienced members of the MUNRFE Vladivostok Club, namely Mr. Andrew Moon (the United Kingdom), Ms. Anna Timokhina (China), Ms. Anastasiia Vrishch and Ms. Diana Tereshchenko (Brazil), Ms. Polina Varfolomeeva (Russia), Ms. Galina Salnikova (the Netherlands), Ms. Alyona Plekhanova and Ms. Kamilla Dogui-Ool (Egypt).
MUNRFE successfully celebrated the United Nations Day
On October 24, the global community celebrated the United Nations Day 2018 – a date of the UN establishment. MUNRFE also expressed its commitment to the work of the biggest intergovernmental organization. Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok Clubs shared their knowledge about the United Nations and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with university and high-school students while implementing UN-related entertaining projects. The Clubs conducted their events in Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and in Amur State University (AmSU) under the leadership of Ms. Alyona Plekhanova and Ms. Polina Varfolomeeva as well as Ms. Oksana Guliychuk respectively. Furthermore, attendees posted in their social networks pictures with SDGs and described why Goals are significant for the world.
October 24: The United Nations Day
Today the global community celebrates the birthday of the hugest international governmental organization – the United Nations (UN).
The UN was founded in 1945. On June 26, the representatives of 50 states signed the UN Charter. The UN Charter came into force on 24 October 1945, when it had been ratified by China, France, the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States and by a majority of other signatories, which meant the international recognition of the United Nation. Since then, the 24th of October is annually celebrated as the UN Day.
Initially, the main aim of the Organization was to maintain international peace and security to avoid a new World War. However, throughout history, the UN activities became much more complex, connected to all spheres of society. 193 Member States from all the continents cooperate in frames of numerous bodies, committees, and missions to tackle all global issues the world faces.
MUNRFE became a co-organizer of the ATAPRYAL sport competition among foreign university students
On October 11-14, the city of Vladivostok for the third time hosted the Asia Pacific Association of Russian Language and Literature Professors (ATAPRYAL) sports competition among foreign university students of the Far East “World Generation”. The event was conducted under the auspices of ATAPRYAL, Far Eastern Branch of "Russky Mir" Foundation as well as the Fund for Cultural and Physical Development, and gathered more than 200 Russian and foreign students from all over the Russian Far East. As MUNRFE has tight and long-lasting partnership relations with the Far Eastern Branch of "Russky Mir" Foundation, the Organization became a co-organizer of the event contributing to the event on both stages of organization and implementation.
