September 26 was marked with the conduction of Presidential Elections in MUNRFE Vladivostok Club. Two bright persons Ms. Anna Timokhina (a former Vice-President) and Mr. Alexey Stanonis were nominated for the position of the President. Both candidates presented their vision regarding the work of the Club for the upcoming semester while defending their elaborated Presidential Statements followed by the questions from the Club members. After presenting the statements the candidates had an opportunity to participate in the Q&A session in order to find out the strong and weak points of the opponents programs. Each candidate demonstrated high competency as well as sincere willingness and readiness to lead the Club and to take the responsibility for its future. As a result, by a majority of vote, Ms. Anna Timokhina was elected as MUNRFE Vladivostok Club President, along with Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva as the Vice-President.
In the year of 2018 WFUNA International Model United Nations Conference (WIMUN) hosted by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) in New York will be conducted with the involvement of three MUNRFE representatives – Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva, Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva and Mr. Vitaly Savenkov. Having completed a competitive international selection process Mr. Vitaly E. Savenkov and Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva were selected to perform the duties of WIMUN Secretariat officers. Mr. Savenkov was appointed as Security Council Director (University), whereas Ms. Alexandra Yu. Kosyreva was selected as Secretary of the General Assembly Committee (High School). Moreover, for the first time in history, MUNRFE representative, Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva has become a part of the Senior Secretariat as she was selected to perform the duties of the Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management.
On September 22, 2017 MUNRFE Governing Council by majority of votes elected new Executive Director of the Organization - Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva. The meeting of the Council was conducted on the premises of Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok, Russia. Being the only nominee proposed by both Presidents of Blagoveshchensk and Vladivostok Clubs Ms. Kiseleva introduced her Statement to the Council and shared the plan of the development of the Organization for upcoming 2 years. For the first time in the history of MUNRFE the Elections of the Head of the Organization were opened for attendance by any MUNRFE member. Hereby, the majority of Vladivostok Club members joined the meeting of the Governing Council and observed the process of Elections. The aspect of transparency was fully realized this time as the observers of the meeting had a chance to ask Ms. Kiseleva all the questions on her statement they were interested in.
According to the results of the Far Eastern Model UN 2017, the second UN4MUN Conference in MUNRFE history, 6 winners were selected. Those people without a doubt have demonstrated their high professionalism and sincere desire to grow contributing to the development of Organization. Hereby, it is our deepest pleasure to announce that FEMUN 2017 Outstanding delegates Ms. Ekaterina Sadovskaia (GA6), Mr. Andrew Moon (GA6), Ms. Veronika Tkachenko (GA2), Mr. Andre Pawira (SC), Mr. Egor Klimovich (GA2) from Vladivostok MUNRFE Club, Far Eastern Federal University and Mr. Markus Schwaiger (SC) from the University of Zaltsburg are credentialed to represent the Organization at Jogja International Model UN (JOINMUN) 2017 in Yoguakarta, Indonesia on October 26-29.
The beginning of a semester is a great time to start something new and exciting. That is why Vladivostok Club of Model United Nations of the Russian Far East (MUNRFE) invites students and high-school students, who are interested in acquiring new knowledge and skills, to participate in its Autumn Master Classes 2017 “From Obstacles to Opportunities” which will be held on the premises of Far Eastern Federal University from the 2nd of October till the 5th of November.
During 4 weeks, full of educating and entertaining activities, future young leaders will get a unique opportunity to attend a series of lectures and trainings, conducted by FEFU professors, as well as experienced MUNRFE members, the winners and organizers of international Model United Nations Conferences all over the Earth, including the biggest Model UN Conference worldwide – National Model United Nations, located in the city of New York.
The Third Eastern Economic Forum had a big number of achievements, but one of them directly involved the younger generation. For the first time in Russia, the Economic Forum attended by the President of Russian Federation is featured by the Youth Platform. On September 1-5, 2017, MUNRFE had a privilege to actively take part in the Eastern Youth Economic Forum (EYEF) hosted by Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. The event, which gathered more than 400 people from all over Russian Far East, was organized by Far Eastern Federal University, the Secretariat of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, and the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East. The leadership of the EYEF on behalf of FEFU included the Deputy Vice-President Ms. Elena Kharisova as the EYEF Supervisor, and MUNRFE Governing Council Chairman Mr. Vitaly Savenkov, who successfully performed the duties of the EYEF Program Director. The Plenary Session on September 5 was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy Mr. Yury Trutnev, the governors of the Far Eastern Federal District regions, Deputy Ministers for the Development of the Russian Far East, the heads of the specialized agencies and funds, the top business and civil society representatives.
