This year for the first time MUNRFE became a co-organizer of the International Student Unity Day conducted in the Far Eastern Federal University. Our members namely Financial Director Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova and Vladivostok Club member Ms. Sophia Permyakova fully covered the sector of work with sponsors and partners of the event whereas the Vice-President of Vladivostok Club Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva was working with VIP guests of the Day – representatives of foreign Consulates in Vladivostok. Moreover, the members of Vladivostok Club, Ms. Veronika Tkachenko, Mr. Andre Pawira, Mr. Calvin Lee and Mr. Egor Klimovich were engaged it the implementation of promotional campaign and participation as the representatives of their countries to the event. They also assisted foreign delegations in frames of their preparation.
On November 20, 2017 MUNRFE representatives, namely Executive Director Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva, Financial Director Ms Ekaterina V. Tretiakova, Vladivostok Club President Ms. Anna S. Timokhina and Vice-President Ms. Aleksandra Yu. Kosyreva were honored to participate in the Awarding Ceremony for the scholarship of the Governor of Primorsky Region. The ceremony gathered the most outstanding students who have significantly contributed to scientific, social, cultural or sport life of their universities and the entire Primorsky Region. MUNRFE representatives received certificates of recipients of scholarship for their efficient efforts towards development of youth-led initiatives on the Russian Far East for the years of 2016 and 2017. For aforementioned period MUNRFE became an organizer and a co-organizer of several large-scale events, including but not limited to Far Eastern Model United Nations 2016, APRU-FEFU Undergraduate Leaders' Program 2017, FireStarter 2017, first Eastern Youth Economic Forum and Regional Program of the XIX World Festival of Youth and Students.
On 28 September - 5 November, 2017 MUNRFE Autumn Master Classes (AMC) 2017 “From Obstacles to Opportunities” were successfully held on the premises of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in the city of Vladivostok. The Coordinators of the project, in particular, Mr. Andrew Moon and Ms. Oksana Bozhenova were in charge of its implementation. The project began with the Big Presentation attended by more than 100 FEFU students, where its coordinators, as well as the key-note speakers, namely Dr. Victoria V. Panova, FEFU Vice-President for International Relations and the Executive Director of MUNRFE, Ms. Elena A. Kiseleva welcomed the oncoming participants. The Big Presentation was followed by a series of educational lectures, as well as various trainings aimed at the development of public-speaking, negotiations and leadership skills of the participants.
On October 26-29 MUNRFE delegation represented our Organization at Jogja International Model UN 2017 (JOINMUN 2017) in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The delegation composed of the winners of Far Eastern Model UN 2017, namely Mr. Markus Schwaiger, Ms. Ekaterina Sadovskaia, Mr. Andrew Moon, Ms. Veronika Tkachenko, Mr. Egor Klimovich, and Mr. Andre Pawira under the leadership of the team’s adviser MUNRFE Financial Director Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova demonstrated best MUNRFE practices and leadership capacities and successfully performed at the conference.
Our delegates were represented in all six simulated committees, which are the UN Security Council, UN Development Program, UN Office on Drugs and Crime, UN Children’s Fund, Executive Corporation Meeting and United States Security Council respectively.
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East and Lomonosov Moscow State University Model United Nations (MSUMUN) have signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation that officially proclaimed the principles of interaction between two parties.
The history of modern MSUMUN finds its roots in the year of 2006 when students of the Faculty of World Politics of Lomonosov Moscow State University initiated the creation of their own Model UN. The first session of the conference was held with the assistance of the United Nations Association of Russia Assistance and MGIMO University representatives. For the next year 11 committees will be simulated in frames of the MSUMUN in Russian, English, Spanish, French, Chineese and Arabic languages.
MUNRFE Vladivostok Club organized an event devoted to the celebration of the 72nd United Nations day
On October 26 MUNRFE Vladivostok Club organized a celebration of the most significant event in frames of history of International relations – the United Nations Day. This year marked 72 years of existence of the world’s largest inter-governmental organization, thus on this meaningful day MUNRFE Vladivostok Club conducted an event for the students of the Far Eastern Federal University. The celebration began with an informative lecture about the UN structure and activities, delivered by the MUNRFE Executive Director Elena A. Kiseleva, followed by the discussion of the role of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). After the introduction of the UN system, the participants had an opportunity to broaden their knowledge about the Organization through taking part in the various activities. All guests were also able to learn more about the UN Envoys who put enormous efforts to achieving SDGs around the globe.
