The process of implementation of "FireStarter 2017" is on


Less than three months left until the start of one of the brightest events of this summer in the Russian Far East – “FireStarter 2017”. The Summer Program is a traditional event of MUNRFE, which has already been implemented for more than ten years!

The preparation process for “FireStarter 2017” has been successfully started almost half of the year ago and now preparation moves to the most significant stage, which is the implementation of the project. The working group of the project has been conducting PR-campaign among high schools end educational centers as well as in the social media covering the whole Far East. For current moment, more than 50 mini-presentations were conducted in Vladivostok schools with the main goal to let high school students know about chirpy Summer Program. During presentations school, students were inspired by cheerful videos about life at FireStarter and the detailed explanation of 2 weeks non-stop English and self-development process at the amazing Summer Program.

Far Eastern Model United Nations 2017 Report


For the second time Model United Nations of the Russian Far East organized the only UN4MUN Conference within the territory of Russia - Far Eastern Model United Nations 2017. The Conference held on May 5 - 8, 2017 gathered at Far Eastern Federal University around 60 participants from cities of the Russian Far East as well as countries of Asia-Pacific Region including international students from Japan, Finland, Indonesia, Norway and Austria. This Conference was marked by the attendance of invited expert, main author of UN4MUN concept, the former Project Coordinator for the Global Teaching and Learning Project of the Education Outreach section, Outreach Division of the UN Department of Public Information, who currently works as Model UN Coordinator for the World Federation of UN Associations Mr. William M. Yotive. The Opening Ceremony of FEMUN 2017 was attended by high profile speakers: Deputy Vice President for International Relations of FEFU Mr. Evgeny E. Vlasov, MUNRFE Director-General - Mr. Vitaly E. Savenkov, the Vice Consul of the People's Republic of China to Vladivostok– Mr. Mu Jihui, the Attaché of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok Mr. Alexei V. Schetinin.

FEMUN 2017 is officially open


The Far Eastern Model UN 2017 – the only UN4MUN Conference in Russia – has successfully begun on May 5 under the premises of the Far Eastern Federal University!

The opening ceremony of FEMUN 2017 was attended by high profile speakers: the Vice Consul of the People's Republic of China to Vladivostok– Mr. Mu Jihui and former UN Secretariat officer, Model UN Coordinator at the World Federation of UN Associations – Mr. William M. Yotive. Moreover, MUNRFE Director-General - Mr. Vitaly E. Savenkov, Mr. Evgeny E. Vlasov - Acting Vice President for International Relations of FEFU, Mr. Alexei V. Schetinin - the Attaché of the Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia to Vladivostok and the Secretary-General of the Far Eastern Model UN 2016 – Ms. Ekaterina V. Treriakova congratulated the delegates with the successful start of the Conference by their welcoming speeches.

MUNRFE visits All-Russian Children Center "Okean"


This April MUNRFE continued its productive collaboration with the All-Russian Children Center "Okean". On April 22, the members of the Vladivostok MUNRFE Club, namely, Ms. Yana Krasnitskaya, Ms. Ekaterina Tretiakova, Ms. Anna Timokhina, Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva and MUNRFE Executive Director - Ms. Elena Kiseleva contributed to the implementation of the program "Okean – territory of opportunities". The ladies organized several trainings in the Russian language for more than 20 participants of the program, which are the brightest representatives of active youth of all over Russia. The trainings were aimed at explaining basic principles of impressive public-speaking and negotiation strategies. By accomplishing tasks given by trainers, the participants learned how to defense their opinion and how to deliver a remarkable speech with numerous distractions around.

MUNRFE at the Churkin-Moscow International Model UN 2017


On April 16-21, 2017, three members of MUNRFE namely Ms. Yuliia Kosiakova, Ms. Oksana Bozhenova (Vladivostok Club) and Mr. Nikifor Terekhov (Blagoveshchensk Club) participated in the largest Model UN in Russia – Churkin-Moscow International Model UN 2017 (C-MIMUN), which gathered 700 delegates from around 60 different countries worldwide. Representing China in the Food and Agricultural Organization, as well as the Czech Republic and Swaziland in the General Assembly First Committee all three delegates became a part of the large conference simulating the work of 12 UN Committees in all 6 official languages. Prior the conference Ms. Kosiakova and Ms. Bozhenova successfully passed the selection process among Far Eastern Federal University students, which granted them an opportunity to represent MUNRFE and university at this high-profile event.

In frames of C-MIMUN 2017 MUNRFE team had an opportunity to listen to the lecture devoted to the role of the United Nations presented by professors of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) that served as the conference venue. At the opening ceremony the delegates were also privileged to receive a welcoming word from the Head of MGIMO – Dr. A. V. Torkunov, the first Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN – H.E. Mr. A. A. Pankin, the Head of the UN Information Agency in Moscow – Mr. V. V. Kuznetsov, who presented the addressing letter to participants from the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres.

Vladivostok MUNRFE members recieved additional scholarships


In the beginning of each semester the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) conducts the application process of documents for a wide range of scholarships. These scholarships are granted to the most active and ambitious students in the sphere of scientific, social, creative and sports activities.

The main conditions for obtaining the scholarship for achievements in social activities are studying on a free basis and good academic performance based on the results of the last semester and active participation in the organization and implementation of events at different levels, participation in social activities and volunteering.

Among thousands of candidates, only 150 students of the Far Eastern Federal University were recommended by the competitive commission and approved by the FEFU scholarship commission.
