MUNRFE organized a panel discussion “North-East Asia on the Way to the Agenda 2030”
On December 4, MUNRFE organized a panel discussion "North-East Asia on the Way to the Agenda 2030. The event was conducted with the aim to provide young people with a unique opportunity to become a part of a panel meeting with experts in the spheres of sustainable development, ecology, international relations, and others, who will take a substantive look at the prospects of the Russian Far East and North-East Asian countries for achieving the SDGs. The key speakers shared their practices on SDGs promotion and attainment in the region and their thoughts on the ways to go forward towards the Agenda 2030 by taking action in their countries and societies.
MUNRFE successfully conducted Model Shanghai Cooperation Organization 2020 jointly with FEFU International Department
On November 17, students of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) received a unique experience of debates in the format of representing states at the first Student Model Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) 2020 organized by the FEFU International Department in cooperation with MUNRFE. 16 participants discussed the ways to reach a new level in countering the threat of terrorism and expanding interaction in the field of youth diplomacy and humanitarian exchanges. The Student Model of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was held on the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation in conjunction with Russia's chairmanship of the SCO in 2019-2020.
MUNRFE Blagoveshchensk Club took part in 2020 MEPhI UN SC Model
MUNRFE Blagoveshchensk Club participated in the 2020 MEPhI United Nations Security Council Model which was held in an online format by distinguished members of Science Diplomacy Club MEPhI. The agenda of the UN SC Model was devoted to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In frames of the event, delegates had an opportunity to deepen their knowledge on the agenda item by visiting lectures of experts as well as master their MUN skills during the SC simulation.
MUNRFE Annual Conference 2020 Grant Competition Results
Model United Nations of the Russian Far East (MUNRFE) is delighted to announce the results of the Grant Competition for the MUNRFE Annual Conference 2020.
During the last month delegates from different cities sent to us numerous essays with one specific purpose - to get a refund of their participation fees in a Grant Competition. The Secretariat has thoroughly checked all submitted documents and made its decision.
MUNRFE at the Opening Ceremony of the UN Office at FEFU
On November 12, the Office of the United Nations was opened at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in order to highlight the 75th Anniversary since the foundation of the Organization. The Office is established to disseminate knowledge about the UN among FEFU students and get access to unique informational resources on crucial global issues.
The Opening Ceremony was welcomed by key figures in the context of international cooperation in Russia and its Far East, namely, the Director of the UN Information Centre in Moscow Dr. Vladimir V. Kuznetsov, FEFU Vice-President for International Relations, Dr. Victoria V. Panova, Head of the Agency of International Cooperation of Primorsky Territory Mr. Alexey Yu. Starichkov, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in Vladivostok Mr. Andrey P. Brovarets. The speakers expressed their appreciation of such a significant step for the University and congratulated all attendees on the establishment of the Office. Moreover, MUNRFE Executive Director Mr. Aleksei Stanonis was invited at the Ceremony to deliver a welcoming address on behalf of the Organization and FEFU students.
MUNRFE Vladivostok Club conducted Advanced Leadership School 2020
On November 7-8, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club conducted Advanced Leadership School 2020 in an online format. The annual educational project that turned into a great tradition for the Organization, became a guide to the Club members and all those who are interested in the deep understanding of MUNRFE structure, mission, goals, as well as principles of joint work.
