MUNRFE developed the skills of FEFU students at the "Advanced Leadership School"

Students developed their competencies at the MUNRFE Advanced Leadership School (ALS), which was held on 6-7 February 2021 in a hybrid format. The program included lectures, workshops, and master-classes on project management tips, PR campaign strategies, design, and secrets of effective mentorship. In order to brush up on their memory and structure the information in their heads, participants passed a written exam on the contents of lectures. Overall, 11 students boosted their skills and competencies in several fields during the past ALS.

Students discussed the Russia-EU Relations in frames of the MUNRFE Vladivostok Club project

On December 18, MUNRFE Vladivostok Club successfully conducted the “Russia-EU Relations: Case for Closer Cooperation” project during which students had an opportunity to listen to a lecture delivered by Mr. Egor Sergeev, the Associate Professor of Economics from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

MUNRFE at the BRICS Youth SDG Forum

On December 14-16, MUNRFE Executive Director Mr. Aleksei Stanonis took part in the BRICS Youth SDG Forum on behalf of the Youth Envoy of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9. The event was conducted for the first time with the aim to promote the participation of young people in generating effective and innovative ideas for achieving the SDGs by 2030. The organizers of the Forum were represented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, National Youth Council of Russia, BRICS Youth Energy Agency, and MIREA — Russian Technological University.

The II (XX) Assembly met at the Far Eastern Federal University


On December 12, the II (XX) MUNRFE Assembly started its work on the premises of Far Eastern Federal University. The meeting was presided by MUNRFE Advisory Council Chairman Ms. Alexandra Kosyreva.

The Assembly was opened with the welcoming address «MUNRFE 20th Anniversary – a look through» by Ms. Kosyreva who warmly recalled to the history of the Organization highlighting its rapid development since the establishment and its growing importance not only on the Russian Far East but also on the national level and abroad. After the opening, the participants considered the amendments to the MUNRFE Charter, adopted the MUNRFE Code of Conduct, and elaborated the 5-years Development Program of the Organization, including short- and long-term plans.

MUNRFE took part in the round table "ASEAN-Russia Cultural and Youth Diplomacy in Times of COVID-19"


On December 7-11, ASEAN Center in MGIMO University and the Southeast Asia Student Club jointly conducted the ASEAN Week 2020, which included a series of scientific, educational, cultural, and educational events aimed at disseminating information about the Russia-ASEAN dialogue partnership.

On December 8, in frames of the ASEAN Week, a round table " ASEAN-Russia Cultural and Youth Diplomacy in Times of COVID-19” was held in an online format and involved representatives of youth organizations, NGOs, volunteer movements, universities, and other public structures of Russia and ASEAN. The meeting was moderated by Dr. Ekaterina Koldunova, Associate Professor, Department of Asian and African Studies, Senior expert of ASEAN Centre in MGIMO University. Within the round table, MUNRFE Executive Director Mr. Aleksei Stanonis shared with participants the experience of the adaptation of our Organization to the new reality shaped by the coronavirus which brings the online format to a new level.

Annual Conference report 2020


On December 3-7, Model United Nations of the Russian Far East successfully conducted the Annual Conference 2020 at Far Eastern Federal University in the online format. The event gathered more than 130 participants from various parts of Russia as well as India, China, Egypt, Serbia, Colombia, Republic of Korea, Zambia, Ghana, and El Salvador. The participants represented the United Nations Member States to four committees: Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), United Nations Environmental Assembly (UNEA), Security Council (SC) and World Bank (WB). The Conference was organized in cooperation with the UN Information Centre in Moscow, the World Bank Russian Federation Office, the International Committee of the Red Cross Regional Delegation to Moscow, Russian Federal Agency for Youth Affairs “Rosmolodezh”, the ASEAN Center in MGIMO University, UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Centre in Moscow. The official language of the Conference was English.
