MUNRFE at the United Nations

| UN MUNRFE ABROAD

For more than 10 years of its existence, MUNRFE has been sending the Team of winners of its International Conference to the United States in order to show great results in debating, public speaking and knowledge. Though it has already become a tradition for the Organization to win the highest awards at Conferences in San-Francisco and New York, the year of 2014 turned out to be special for MUNRFE for one more reason. For the first time in the history MUNRFE delegates was honored to visit the Permanent Mission of a represented country to the United Nations. This time representing the Lao People's Democratic Republic, the delegation had an opportunity to meet the Deputy Permanent Representative, Chargé d'Affairs a.i. of the Lao PDR to the United Nations, Mr. Kham-Inh Khitchadeth and other diplomatic officers of the LPDR Permanent Mission to the UN.

V RC Grant Competition results

| REGIONAL CONFERENCE

MUNRFE is deeply happy to announce the results of the V RC Grant Competition. After careful evaluation of submitted Policy Papers 4 delegates became winners of the Competition: Vladislav Ulanov, OSCE, Russia, Khabarovsk; Alexander Ivanov, OSCE, Czech Republic, Vladivostok; Nadezhda Shish, UNESCO, Czech Republic, Vladivostok; Artem Puzikov, OSCE, Germany, Blagoveshchensk. They submitted the best Policy Papers according to the deadline, thus their registration payments will be waived by the Secretariat. We would like to congratulate our winners and wish them good luck and every success!

MUNRFE at the National Model United Nations 2014 in New York

| NMUN ACHIEVEMENTS MUNRFE ABROAD

The team from MUNRFE that represented the Lao People’s Democratic Republic at the National MUN Conference (March, 30 - April, 3) in New York under the leadership of Ms. Ksenia Severinova as an adviser, was awarded with a certificate of an “Outstanding Delegation” for showing their extraordinary performance. The National Model UN is considered to be one of the biggest and most prestigious Model UN in the world, uniting annually more than 5000 university students. Those members of MUNRFE were granted the credentials to represent the Organization at such high-level event after their victory in the last International MUNRFE Conference in Vladivostok. This opportunity became real thanks to immeasurable support from Far Eastern Federal University and Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service.

Meeting with the professor from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation

On the 27th of March Vladivostok MUNRFE Club was visited by an outstanding guest, the FEFU visiting professor from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Prof. Valery D. Nikolaenko. During his half-century professional diplomat career, Prof. Nikolaenko served in various capacities, including but not limited to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ambassador of the USSR and Russia to Columbia, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Greece, Nicaragua (and Guatemala simultaneously), Secretary-General of the Organization for Collective Security. He acquired the rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, as well as the Doctorate degree in political sciences and the Candidate degree in historical sciences.

"THE SITUATION IN THE UKRAINE" PROJECT IN VLADIVOSTOK CLUB

In the mid-March, Vladivostok MUNRFE Club has successfully conducted a comprehensive project on the “Situation in the Ukraine” under the leadership of Ms. Alina Sharabarina and Ms. Viktoria Yavorskaya in Far Eastern Federal University. The project, accomplished in Russian language, included several lectures and trainings aimed at preparation of the prospective delegates for the simulation of the UN Security Council meeting in the very end.
