The team from MUNRFE that represented the Lao People’s Democratic Republic at the National MUN Conference (March, 30 - April, 3) in New York under the leadership of Ms. Ksenia Severinova as an adviser, was awarded with a certificate of an “Outstanding Delegation” for showing their extraordinary performance. The National Model UN is considered to be one of the biggest and most prestigious Model UN in the world, uniting annually more than 5000 university students. Those members of MUNRFE were granted the credentials to represent the Organization at such high-level event after their victory in the last International MUNRFE Conference in Vladivostok. This opportunity became real thanks to immeasurable support from Far Eastern Federal University and Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service.

On the 27th of March Vladivostok MUNRFE Club was visited by an outstanding guest, the FEFU visiting professor from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Prof. Valery D. Nikolaenko. During his half-century professional diplomat career, Prof. Nikolaenko served in various capacities, including but not limited to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ambassador of the USSR and Russia to Columbia, Costa Rica, Kazakhstan, Greece, Nicaragua (and Guatemala simultaneously), Secretary-General of the Organization for Collective Security. He acquired the rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, as well as the Doctorate degree in political sciences and the Candidate degree in historical sciences.
In the mid-March, Vladivostok MUNRFE Club has successfully conducted a comprehensive project on the “Situation in the Ukraine” under the leadership of Ms. Alina Sharabarina and Ms. Viktoria Yavorskaya in Far Eastern Federal University. The project, accomplished in Russian language, included several lectures and trainings aimed at preparation of the prospective delegates for the simulation of the UN Security Council meeting in the very end.
As a result of the call for Chairs of the V Regional Conference, there were 8 applications submitted. Consequently, the Secretary-General and her Deputy did their best to select the most competent applicants. Welcome UNESCO Chairs: Ms. Marina Rashchepkina (Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok), Mr. Alexander Yugay (Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok) and Ms. Kaitlyn Peng (Northeast Agriculture University, Harbin, China). And the following officers were appointed as OSCE Chairs: Ms. Olga Katina (Far Eastern Federal University, Vladivostok) and Mr. Lavrentiy Pak (Vladivostok State University of Economics and Service, Vladivostok).
